Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!
I have a troll messaging me. Can't I block that? I could before.

JudasIscariot: The blue dot indicates that the game was updated :)
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Does this blue dot indicated what exactly got updated?
Will updates still be reflected on the Account tab?
Appears only next to the game. Would be nice if individual items that are updated for a game, eg soundtrack or linux download etc also had the blue dot to indicate they are updated. I have noticed that when it comes to game downloads I think it defaults to the last format updated.

I say that because I noticed one game was on MacOSX when I checked and another on Linux (updated games) so I'm assuming that download was the last thing updated?

Grargar: Had a similar problem, but I refreshed the page and it worked.
I tried that, but no luck. I've also tried accepting requests by mousing over avatars and through galaxy, but nothing seems to be working for me right now.

Telika: Oh, also all the message history with the non-"friends" is gone. Sweet.
It'll be back... as soon as GOG delivers on what they said.

PaterAlf: Negative points first:

- GOG, would you please get your alphabetisation right or give us the manual sorting back. It's almost impossible to find certain games when there aren't exact rules about how you handle the game titles (sometimes it's The game title, the next time it's game title, The).

- Please also give us an option to keep the game series together and in order of release. Taking Blackwell games for example the order at the moment is Blackwell Convergence (part three), Blackwell Deception (part four), Blackwell Epiphany, The (part 5), Blackwell Unbound (part two) and The Blackwell Legacy (part 1) is somewhere else on the shelf (because of The). How exactly does that make sense???

- About the pagination: I hate it!!! I can understand that it is nice for some people with large collections and slow or unstable internet connection or with old computers. But please give us a choice. When you said that the default setting will be 100 games per page, I didn't think that it will be the only setting available.

- Tags for movies and games shouldn't be the same ones. A tag like "feature film" or "documentary" makes a lot of sense for the movie section, but is useless for the games. Please give us different sets of tags for each section.

- I want the original cover arts and boxes for the games back. The store graphics might look nice, but the boxes gave you the feeling of a real collection (and not of browsing a store). Besides that the original cover art is part of the history of the games and should be there.

- Old PMs are missing. I really hope you wiull import them to the new section (like you aid you would).

Some positive points:

- Shared wishlists are great (especially for big sales)!

- Order history is a very helpful feature (especially when you have to deal with support) and the possibility to search for unredeemed gift codes is great!

- The possibility to tag games is nice (but it doesn't compensate for the loss of manual sorting)
I do like some of your points there. I have 10 pages of games so far. At least you can manually type in the page (for instance I'm going backwards oldest to newest purchase looking for updated games). I have too many new games I've not downloaded yet so started off easy :) But ability to select all one page and just load it would be nice. I guess GOG are trying to reduce load.

darthspudius: But why is the rum gone?!
they drunk it all up i guess
avatar
JudasIscariot: Go to a game, click "More" and you'll see a "Changelog" menu choice if a given game has one :)

If you have Broken Age or Shadow Warrior 2013, you should see an example :)
avatar
deonast: That's odd I have Shadow Warrior 2013 and no Changelog under the more menu that I can find.
Wait a few minutes, then, a changelog for the DirectX 9.0c and the DirectX 11 version will be showing up soon :)
PM Messages all gone.Haven't chatted with anyone and no friends so far.Damn!:D
So now you can't PM anyone? I sent a message to someone yesterday, offering them a game [they gave me a game a few weeks back]

I can't even remember the persons name!!

Was it removed to prevent people from gifting games?

I like the Tag function the most.

All the best

Very nice, though I miss the option to quickly jump to a game's store page - merely clicking a title used to suffice, it's all kind of buried now.

Just a suggestion - I've marked a few titles as "completed", leaving the rest untouched - may I kindly request that a "display untagged" option is added? That would be much easier, not to mention faster than assigning the "next to play"/"backlog" tag to every single individual game I have yet to finish (quite a time waster).

Sorry if it's been asked (haven't followed the thread), but is the message history available anywhere?

It will eventually be re-implemented. You'll just have to wait.

I am afraid you have to deal with it for a while as the GOG website team is still working on getting some of the missing features of the PM back including the option to block users, no ETA on how long it will take though.

Currently no, but they are planning to bring it back soon.

Currently, your only available options are to block your chat completely or allow chatting only with friends.

Nice look and some useful functions added.

Some suggested improvements:
- Instead of clicking an x amount of time for next page, simply add the page numbers below the page. Equal to the forum. The current way of browsing is rather annoying.
- Add the option to browse games by letter (and # for the rest)
- When sorting on title, properly sort games within a series. For instance the Spellforce series is sorted as SF2:DotP, SF2:DS, SF2:SW and SF P. The correct order (based upon release date) is SF P, SF2:SW, SF2:DS, SF2:DotP (other examples given by others in this thread)
- Put the order date back on the game page in your account
- Allow both ascending and descending ordering
- Add an option to mass tag games by means of a checkbox, the list view would make most sense for this

Barry_Woodward: Is there any chance you could add the option to allow us to view our entire collection on one page like before?
I'd like to see this too.
