tinyE: Unfortunately I don't think our resident Swiss Miss gives a flying fuck what you, or any of us, appreciate. :P
awalterj: She's from Finland actually but seems to be living in her own world. One day in the far future, cryptologic linguists will decipher her forum posts and reveal their true meanings, or maybe not. And she is from THIS Finland

I kicked Bloodlines off my wishlist a while ago, now I had to put it on the wishlist again. I discovered that song a couple weeks ago and it promptly replaced the Angry Birds theme as my official insanity mode song.

dtgreene: I can go further. If you are visibly transgender:
If you are a trans woman, you are ridiculed and often called a rapist for daring to use the right bathroom.
In Thailand they sometimes even have a separate bathroom for the katoyes (ladyboys), at least in some schools. Not sure about tomboys which bathroom they choose. If you are a trans woman, you are ridiculed and often called a rapist for daring to use the right bathroom.
I know one Thai ladyboy who lives in Finland (in a relationship with a Finnish man). Most will easily think hir (him? her?) as a good-looking Asian woman, I thought so too when I saw him the first time. Luckily someone soon pointed out to me she is a katoye, I don't know how long it would have taken me for that to dawn in. She has a bit lower voice though.
Anyways, when she was in the subway and a ticket inspector came in, she had a monthly ticket which still stated she is a he. You can bet how confused the ticket inspector was, she kept insisting that he/she is using someone else's ticket and that can't be "her". In the end she said "I can show you my dick if you don't believe me." I guess that's why (s)he is still considered as he by the establishment, as (s)he hasn't gone through of an operation. I don't know how it should be, should anyone just be able to decide whether (s)he will be considered as a man or woman, even without any operation or hormone-treatment?
Then again, in Finland "hän" (= he, she) is gender-neutral. That's how damn advanced we are, even more so that the Swedes.

Hey, in Basque, pronoums and possesives are both gender neutral! Well, there's this little case of the verb conjugation depending on gender, but that's only for coloquial speech anyway.

LiquidOxygen80: This is one of those times when I wish we had a mod type figure who would simply step in and lock these shit posting troll threads. It gives shitposters like TStael less room to operate.
To be frank, it almost makes me miss GameRager. At least he was occasionally funny.
And what if the mod were to say they agreed with this thread, or even promoted it? What if the mod wanted to ban you for not promoting this topic, for not agreeing? To be frank, it almost makes me miss GameRager. At least he was occasionally funny.
Threads like this happen, and quite frankly I find these interesting. It is nice to see peoples wheels in motion and to see what others think, feel and do.
Remember there is more to gaming life then just playing the games, we are actually quite sociable people for the most part.

Look at the title of the thread. Look at the insults in the title. Look at the first post filled with stupid generalizations and insults.
Then come again, and say with a straight face that this is just a matter of "agreeing" or a sane way to open a debate.

tinyE: It's not the topic, it's the thread itself.
Take the person who necroed it, TStael. As a stark raving mad liberal I actually agree with 99% of what she says, and on a passionate level to boot, but that's not why she makes these threads and posts. She makes them to get a rise out of people as evidenced by the few times I have tried to talk to her and express my agreement only to be talked down to and told off.
A debate thread is fine, and I encourage people to create them for the sake of debate and exchange of ideas, but that isn't the case here. This is here specifically to spawn disagreement and promote, for lack of a better term, a flame war. Bullshit. The forum doesn't need that.
I know TStael can be a pain to discuss with and is certainly part of the push of the modern internet "liberalism" that is currently going about. Yet TStael is quite interesting to talk with, especially as conversations tend to wind TStael up more then the people talking, so you can really see the wheels grind as people give reasonable responses and TStael gives the same answer time and time again with just a different spin on how unprogressive the other person is. I know I have had a long "discussion" with TStael.

I can with a straight face tell you that I know the title is an insult, that a small number of the forum members here on GOG (like elsewhere) are really set on being complete expletives, and are happy to bring everyone else down so they on their tiny pedestals can feel big. Look at the title of the thread. Look at the insults in the title. Look at the first post filled with stupid generalizations and insults.

I do not feel that people have to agree with the posts or the thread itself. In fact most grown-ups who felt this was a trap should just not open the thread, or ignore it and move onto better things, unless they are willing to deal with this sort of thing.
My post was a warning that those who become mods would have a great deal of control and _if_ they were themselves of this threads makers persuasion then they would happily go about banning/silencing those who reasonably, and not so reasonably disagreed with equal disdain.
These types of people tend to be on the majority very "progressively" networked and will happily employee nepotism to strengthen their ranks.
GOG's system of not heavily modding nor controlling the forums lets us have the freedom to express ourselves, and our views. A small part of that means we will get insulted by others who want to express or impose their little ideas, whether for good or bad, on others.

TStael: Huh?
I hardly ever dig deeper than the first tab of these fora - shame really - so this must be bit of a bitter back to the future joke, or what? ;-)
If a topic is something I wish to respond to, I do, and do not look at what vintage it might have been. So in my view can others.
Chill out, and let opinions flourish would be my take on it.
P1na: You just replied to a post from August, I think it's fair to call you out for necroing. You might hardly ever dig deeper than the first tab, but his must be the one exception then. That is a compliment, P1na - though you would not mean it; but that is even better. Let it be said, I actually paid the "tax for Europe" when I worked in Belgium, and still feel quite proud about it as BE has not become the reason of Euro-zone implosion, despite deep public deficit at the time.
But you are probably a bit too young to know about that...
I have consciously bumped-up - or "necroed" but one topic:
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/is_the_witcher_2_anti_gay/page1
Because I cannot close it, before I shall have played TW3 - then I shall know if it is but an estrangement ( I hope) or a definite loss.
Since I am not that foolish about my money - you might argue against; since I am okei to have paid BE to meet Euro convergence criteria - the price must reflect worst case scenario; or "no replay value".
Besides - might I ask: if someone actually wants to reply to something or have an opinion - why would you censor him/her - just because someone else thought it first?
Your alternative corbyning gambit would be: "Why do you duplicate!"
Or..?
Edit: italics... hope it goes. It went, second time lucky.

As you can see from the thread name, this thread is specifically for flame and insults, not any constructive argument.
It will be wise to ignore it and let it sink
Unless you like trading insults with "Non-Mainstream" people.
