IAmBored2: You are aware that Steam did the same exact thing right?
You're not standing up for anyone by picking on GoG when Steam pulled the game from their stores a year ago because the CCP demanded it.
You can't get away from china, they demand absolute control and in exchange they have 1.4 billion people willing to buy your goods. Corporations are never going to make the ethical decision to abandon the chinese market, so counting on them to do so is folly.
Ok, and telling us about Steam serves what?
Look, i am a GOG buyer. I wasn't buying games on Steam. My whole library on Steam is three games and one is a free game while i have over 1500 on GOG. This is the place i spend my money because i believed in this place more. So if both GoG and Steam do a certain bad action guess what will annoy me more? Is not that i am fine with Steam's actions.
What am i gonna post on Steam though? Will i say i will not buy games from them? I wasn't buying games from them anyway.
That i feel betrayed? i never trusted them anyway, i was avoiding them.
So yeah of course many of us here will care more about GoG because this is the place we trusted more and because of that we will feel more betrayed and annoyed by the actions of GoG!.
Once again i will say this to CDP. I DON'T CARE that much about the bad Cyberpunk release. I was willing to even defend them against people that seem to be a little too much on the cancelling bandwagon over a bad release.
A mistake with a game is one thing. Censoring on behalf of a dictatorship against the people of the whole world is a completely different thing though. To me THAT is the BIG fail of trust and not the Cyberpunk 2077 drama.
And yet they have replied more than once about Cyberpunk but continue to stay silent about what they did with Devotion.
