I am going to give my perspective on a few games that i have purchased from GOG over the years, going to give games a rating 1-10.

Empire earth 1-3 - 5 out of 10 - fun games, i tend to have a pretty quick burn out on these games. I think 2 is the best of the trio if you only want to buy 1 get #2

Fallout - 8 out of 10 - a little slice of awesome. When you look up and it is 3:00 AM and you tell your self "just another 15 min, ill just finish this quest" you know you have a good game.

Pillars of Eternity - 4 out of 10 - i was a little let down by this game, i probably got about 1/2 way through it. I found the auto pause to be lacking, and clunky. This game would have been much more enjoyable for me with a true turn base option. Game plot is well written, i enjoyed the classes i played.

Morrowind - 9 out of 10 - I got into this game in a big way, i played for about 3 months, then one day i realized I had barely even started on the main quest. Combat has a bit of a learning curve, i like the leveling mechanics. the player does get to the point where he/she out classes most everything you encounter, but there are still some challenging fights. Lots of cool stuff to do, become a vampire, purchase houses, join the legion, ect. lots of fun.

Wasteland 2 - 7 -out of 10 - fun game, it is good to take a break from fantasy rpg once in a while. I found that mele characters become almost useless. solid plot, great combat mechanics (i do love turn-based combat). Combat stays challenging through out the whole game. Specialist characters become much more powerful than generalists. I like how you can create a full well rounded party. There are other characters you can pick up along the way.

Arcanum - 7 out of 10 - true turn based RPG will always get a point or two in my book. well written plot, cool game mechanics. I do like the steam punkish theme. I found some of the characters you pick up to be anoying, and they could be more effective in combat. Crafting is fun in this game (i only did the tech side not magic)

Neverwinter nights 1 - 5 out of 10 - pretty cool game, i used to play a lot of 3.5 D&D, and this is real close. Pretty decent plot. combat mechanics could be better.

Neverwinter nights 2 - 6 out of 10 - great plot, the official mods are better than the campaign. the game loses points by not having true turn based combat, so much more could be done with a well rounded party. There is a auto pause mod/hack floating around that helps. I ended up micro managing one character per fight (usually a caster) the Party AI is pretty much all over the place, sometimes it is good, sometimes very very bad. also i felt like i had to fight the camera rotation all the time. All in all it is a fun game, well worth the money.

Temple of Elemental Evil - 9 out of 10 - I can not say enough good things about this game. it is a true D&D 3.5 experience in every since of the word, if you are familiar with 3.5 there is no learning curve. I have seen where people have recomended this game to people trying to learn to play the Pen and paper game. It looses a point because you have to get the Circle of 8 modpack to make it work. Advise: if you have a Paladin in your party you will miss out on some quests in the temple (or he/she will fall) Co8 mod also has the Keep on the Borderlands played as a stand alone game. This game is everything i want in a RPG.

I recently picked up Shadowrun: Dragon fall, and Divinity: Origional sin. I am playing Divinity right now. Ill post a review after i finish the game.
I really should play ToEE
I didn't much like ToEE back when it first came out. I've been meaning to play it again, with the Co8 patch. I remember combat being all too frequent and taking too long, though. But I guess if that's your thing, it would make it a great game.
I forgot Morrowind was on here. I have it on disc. I think it's a really bad game. The game world always felt off too (no NPC schedules, no natural lighting indoors) and the combat is terrible.

Which campaigns did you play for NWN? For single player you should play SoU + HotD. The game is probably better for multiplayer but I haven't tried that yet.

Arcanum is the best RPG on that list, imo (edit: the best of the games I've played that is).

Pillars of Eternity - 9 out of 10 - 10 out of 10 until chapter 3 where pillars story is not great as it used to be until chapter 2... but it's still a really great game. I enjoyed real time combat a lot and you need to think before combat (and it's better to avoid since you only get experience from quests, journal and discovery of map).

Morrowind - 2 out of 10 - mmo like quests, story is not interesting, it's just not fun. combat are too easy. but the world is big... but it's also really "empty" of interesting thing.

I've played it before but never on a good computer; always had to have everything turned to minimum. It might be nice to try it now that I can actually see more that two feet off into the distance. :P

Just be sure to get a patch that fixes what just might be the stupidest experience/leveling system ever. It's worse than Final Fantasy 2 and Final Fantasy 8's exp systems and that's quite an accomplishment.

Never had a problem with it, probably because I always play swordsmen and thieves.

Ugh, I hate that leveling system. Especially when combined with enemy scaling. My first serious attempt turned into a total disaster because of it, because I made it even worse by picking a custom class whose major skills was those I reckoned I'd rely on the most. Of course that meant each time I increased level, I could only increase my stats by perhaps 1 or 2. By the time of my first oblivion gate, the enemies were basically unstoppable :P

At least I heard that there are some fanmade patches that try to make level scaling less uniform.

There's some XP for killing monsters as well, until you complete the bestiary entries. But the vast majority is through quests and discovery, yes. Kind of makes one wonder why the vast majority of talents is combat related and why there are so so so many trash mobs and battles. though.

Even with Co8 patch, you'll find it's like that. Don't get me wrong, the patch is excellent and makes the game much more playable. But the old D&D module upon which the game is based was nothing but combat, really. So it's a pretty close adaptation in that regard.

Yeah I know. I actually own the module as well, but never run it because of that.
