It's just an observation that I find interesting. When I was a teen, roughly %75 of my free time after school and on summer break was spent writing and drawing my own comics and stuff. The rest of my free time was spent watching a few favorite TV shows, reading, or playing games. I would game maybe 3-4 hours a week on average. I was more interested in and enjoyed reading and drawing comics.

As an adult I spend almost all my free time after work and on weekends gaming, with a little time spent maybe watching a few videos on Youtube. But I have much less free time now. So a long term project like writing and drawing a comic book would take too long and I'd lose interest anyway. It would go from fun to a chore after a few weeks.

There are those of us who are way worse and I will explain.

For myself and a few others it's not only that 95% of our free time is gaming, it's the fact that 95% of our time is free time.

I'm not saying that I feel guilty or something about my gaming time. It's not something to be embarrassed about. I just thought it was weird how I'm gaming more as an adult than when I was in school. I imagine for most "gamers" they game the most when they are in their school/college years and once they get married and have kids it dwindles down to almost nothing. I just never got married or had kids so all my time after work is mine to spend however I want. I'm pretty happy without a family.

okay, I'm not totally sure why I started the topic. I guess I was just curious about how much the average "gamer" plays compared to me.

Do you want a No-Bell for that?
this could also change

balance in all things, perhaps you are just rebalancing a bit
Congrats on having "free time"!

indeed. I might have the free time to play all bazillion of my games when I retire in like 30 years lmao. until then I'll just keep plinking away at them between wife, kids, and work.

I envy you. The bulk of my free time is shared between open source projects, keeping up with the tech craze and spending time with the family.
