octalot: Do you see a detailed description from the OP about what they mean when they say "stretch"? As for how you think it was done, the top part of the armor has an opaque rectangle that's about 16x20 pixels, so I guess the stretching is done by putting a few 16x20 sprites in the background, and letting the armor draw over the top one.
I would have said that Pond "extended" :)

But you are right, I saw the term from a computer geeks point of view and not from a layman's point of view.
Stretching is something very specific when it comes to 2D graphics and 3D objects.
