I have some memories about a movie that's really bugging me and I can't find it via various Internet searches or asking around. I saw this in the early 2000s, it's a 90s looking live action movie. Here's what I remember:

1. There is a detective who has a female partner called Diane or Diana

2. He is being stalked by a psychotic blonde ex. She follows him one day in her car, behind his. Then, at a stoplight, she comes out and shows him her boobs by unraveling her coat. He sees this in the rear-view mirror and smiles. There were only these 2 cars at the stoplight, it looked like a small town. He tells this to his partner later during lunch and they have a laugh together. He does't realize she's nuts yet, he plays along with whatever she does and regularly jokes with his partner.

3. At one point, the ex sneaks into his shower saying something like "I promise to be good" and they have some sexy time

4 It has a happy ending, his partner arrives just in time to shoot the ex who was trying to kill him

Basically, it's like Fatal Attraction but the guy is a detective and the stalker is younger & better looking than Glenn Close.

The 2 detectives kinda look like the main characters in the TV series Silk Stalkings or Hunter. But neither one female protagonist in these is called Diana / Diane. He was in his 40s I think with short hair but no baldness like in Hunter. His partner looked like Mitzi Kapture from Silk Stalkings but thinner. I found some other actresses that looked like her (i.e. Sela Ward) but their movies don't seem to match. Had I known a name or an actor, I'd have found it sooner or later, I found others through pure luck and/or perseverance, where I remembered much less than this.

I think this might be a TV movie or an episode of a series and that's why I'm having a hard time finding out its name. An episode of Silk Stalkings seemed to match, "Dark Heart" but it didn't focus enough on the stalker (who wasn't blonde either lol). I also found similar episodes of Dempsey & Makepeace and one of Sledge Hammer! but none were mine.

You;ve been looking for this for quite a long time, haven't you? Found posts like this going back a few years.

Google says Roots of Evil. Kind of doubt it and pulling up a full description is not something I can do right off but here's a link to the trailer:

I know it and it's not mine. It's with a serial killer who targets street hookers and then phones his mom for forgiveness, but she doesn't want to speak to him. And it turns out he's a detective, a working girl recognizes him after running from him and going to the police to make a statement.

I've only been asking more intensely about movies since September on movies.stackexchange, then on the Tip Of My Tongue subreddit. And believe me, I googled a lot! But I did ask 2 questions a few years back (one being this) on some forum but had little luck. The second question was actually about Bad Company (2002) with Anthony Hopkins & Chris Rock, no response there either, which in last September, movies.stackexchange found in 5 minutes. That encouraged me to ask about more.

I've managed to find a lot of movies from Youtube channels about action movies. Then I googled memories and found more. But this one, I practically know its story & I can't seem to find it

Oookay... I almost have it...

Can you please describe those boobs in greater detail... maybe provide a drawing?

Just noticed this bit. I;m not in a position to go looking as I;m at the library but there are a few websites that track nudity and partial nudity in movies.

Maybe someone here can suggest one to check?

I do believe they were natural, firm, medium sized. And had the lady not been psychotic, she would have been a lovely companion for the guy.

By the way, another TV series that was airing at the time I think I saw this was Baywatch Nights, that one doesn't match either.

What bugs me is that for this movie (like for Bad Company) I know the plot, I have a character name and enough details. I managed to find Criminal Passion with Joan Severance just off the fact that I remembered a small line of dialogue where she tells a murder suspect: "The lady's blood was found on a razor." To which he replies "Yeah, I used to shave her legs!". But this one, no luck.

Sounds good, you forgot the drawing thought...
Given your indepth knowledge of the flashing scene, why are you asking here and not searching mrskin? Seems like you'd have a better chance of finding it there than here.

Well, because I didn't know there were sites that track partial nudity in movies. Most of the ones I saw back then were action movies (think Michael Dudikoff, Daniel Benrhardt, Gary Daniels etc) or other relatively safe for work shows. Recently I found stuff like: Murder Most Horrid (dark comedy series where a lady plays a different role each episode), Relativity (96 series), American Samurai, Kounterfeit. Stuff like this, aired in the afternoon or at 8PM. Seeing how the community here is full of ideas, I thought I'd give it a try.

Yeah, whenever I ask this, people really like the idea

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look up mrskin, the stalker movies list and the tv tropes list for obsessed women. I hope It's there somewhere. If anyone has any ideas, please don't hold back.

The comic elves also rescue tv movie screenwriters.

Try also this IMDB list, it seems to have 81 titles (more than that other list, but it is generally about stalker movies),

http://www.imdb.com/list/ls063560893/

EDIT: Well, that list was more about generic horror stalker movies, probably your movie is not there either, they were too new movies mostly anyway.

I have a certain blonde actress in mind who looks quite pretty in some sort of wacky way, and I think I've mostly seen her in comedies but also in one stalker movie. God damn it I can't remember in which movies exactly I've seen her, just a hunch...

Do you think your movie was high-class enough to even appear in cinemas, or some B-grade straight to VHS/DVD, or even a TV movie?

I suspect a straight to DVD or a TV movie actually, otherwise I think I would have located it somehow. Marg Helgenberger's movies for instance do not match (I found Happy Face Murders in her list and she had many TV movies) , what's the name of your actress? I could take look at her movie list. I did this for several actors and found quite a lot of stuff I remembered.

Nice, if only I could wake up with the name of this movie on my lap.
