The Eight titles are:

Assassin’s Creed 2
Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands
Far Cry 2
Anno 1404
Might & Magic – Clash of Heroes
Splinter Cell Conviction
The Settlers 7
Might & Magic 10 – Legacy

A few of these titles are already available here on GOG however does the loss of online features mean the rest will finally debut? or has Ubisoft just forgotten about GOG?

My bet's rather on "Ubisoft doesn't want to release on GoG" (anymore).
Same with EA.

Which is a shame, would be nice to at least complete the original Might & Magic series here with 10.
I wouldn't mind a GoG release of the original PoP trilogy myself, but it is what it is.
Who knows, maybe GoG still manages to convince and get Ubisoft (as well as EA) on board again one of these days.

Maybe I'm misremembering but isn't X taking place in Ubisoft's mangled Heroes 5 Universe? I'm not that hyped about it even if it gets released here.

Depends on if Ubisoft wants to bother replacing the Uplay functionality from those games. So far, they haven't been particularly keen to do so.

I'll also have to note the irony of the two formerly always-online games (Assassin's Creed 2 and Settlers 7) losing their online functionality.

They certainly haven't "forgotten" about GOG, since GOG is undoubtedly sending them money every month for all the Ubisoft games that are already on here.

More accurate to say: they just don't care about GOG.

And since GOG takes a 30% cut, same as Steam, and Ubisoft has been flipping the bird to Steam over the last few years by not releasing any new games there, there is probably no way Ubisoft would release "new" games on GOG any more, even if they are old games.

And Microsoft. The biggest problem with major publishers who also happen to run their own stores is that older popular content is used to pad out the total number of games available on their subscription services, and further disincentivizes a DRM-Free release. Eg, they could release Halo & Age of Empires or Far Cry 3 & WatchDogs here on GOG to buy DRM-Free as a one off. Or they could use them as 4x extra "carrots" for an ongoing subscription to Game Pass or Ubisoft+ knowing that half their subscribers treat them like gym memberships in that they'll continue to subscribe / even forget they are subscribing long after the amount they use the service drops off...
Ubisoft didn't bother to put games like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Splinter Cell: Double Agent here, that not only are single-player, they don't even require Uplay.

Like many said, I think they don't bother with GOG anymore, just like EA. Wish I was wrong, though.

And also, I think since Ubisoft signed that deal with Epic, they don't even put their games on sale on 3rd party key sites anymore. You can only get their game through Uplay Connect or EGS (not counting grey sites).
almost bought settlers 6 yesterday on gog just be rid of that annoying ubi launcher... out of all the game launchers out there, theirs must be one of the more obnoxious
EA has returned to Steam so there is always hope..... however they returned with higher prices compared to there own and other stores.
I would surely love a few more Assassin's Creeds without having to run the Ubisoft client.

For those games you get the privilege of running both Steam and Origin so you should pay more! ;)
Assassin's Creed 2 and Might & Magic X have online features?

I think AC2 has some gear unlocks for Ubisoft's loyalty points, but that's about it.
