If you enjoyed Stilz then you should give a listen to Noir Deco, i think it could also fit what you're looking for, though i'm not sure if i would consider it post apocalyptic.

FarCry 3 was also among my interesting GM4GM choices ("game music for game mastering").

Thanks for the links, Perturbator has a lot of stuff that goes in absolutely the right direction, I'll just have to listen through all of it carefully – most tracks have too much 'punch' for mere background (I usually love the punch :) ). I think I need a mix of melancholy and looming threat.

Far Cry 3 or FC3 Blood Dragon? If it's the later then you should check PowerGlove, he's the one that made the soundtrack.

As for Perturbator, yeah, that is why i recommended older albums/music, he's going towards a more dark/heavy direction in terms of music, i enjoy more the "melancholic"/"calm" stuff, Meet Jim is one of my favourites.

Btw, check also for other musics of Noir Deco, he also has

I think it's easier to find the musics that you want from Noir Deco than Perturbator.
