While not actually a fan of this kind of music, I have just bought a DIY kit for the PreenFM2. Inevitably, any music I make with this will sound '80s (or I guess '90s videogame since it's the way the Adlib card and the MegaDrive sound chip also worked).

I got the same impression too, was as surprised. They mention Paths of Hate in the description box of the video to be fair, but not in a way that it jumps out at you.
