Looking at "Now on Sale" I see all the 5.99 games from early 90s like Battle Chess, Prehistorik 1+2, Dragon Wars etc. They all have regular price 9.99 and are currently on sale.

So has GOG decided to eliminate the 5.99 price point?

A game from 1990 is really worth 10 US$??

Does anyone remember their slogan from the beginning about having only two price points?

These two prices are loooong gone...where have you been the last few years?
What does the date have to do with it price?

Actually, now that I think about it, a lot of things get more expensive with age.
That's Interplay for you. They think they can earn more money by raising the prices of their old games.

not true according to my recollection. really old games from early 90s and before, were priced as 5.99 until very recently

gog didn't decide to do anything. interplay sets whatever price points they like for their games.

There is a fine line between old and classic.
a 2000 PC with Pentium 3 and GeForce 2 is considered old and will sell for pennies
a 1977 apple II is considered a classic and sells at premium
but that is ONLY because it is a rare piece of hardware.
a digital game (or any other media) can never become rare, so once it gets into "old" category, will probably remain there.
People are not willing to pay premium for 25 years old technology....

yes.
I'd pay a lot more for Tyrian than Witcher 3.

Just saying.

I don't know, Witcher 3 ain't that great of a game.
The publishers set the price specifics. That being said, some cases are extremely humorous like Turok for example.

Well, I only managed to run it once without it messing with my controls, so I can't say it's was a good experience for me!

I was teasing about a Witcher 3, I actually quite like it, despite it's subjective, and objective flaws.

or Jazz Jazz Jackrabbit

anyway, tyrian vs witcher 3 aside, usually games get cheaper over time. it is first time I see that old games get more expensive
