Guess should grab Duke 1 and 2 then :P How are they, really? Is the level design comparable to the brilliance of Commander Keen and Bio Menace?

Azhdar: Can Gearbox remove all Duke Nukem titles from GOG? If the answer is yes, then what will happen to people who have DKs in their library? Because I have Duke Nukem 3D and this news scared me.
GOG wil not remove what you already own.

I got the Fallout series years back before they were removed from sale. My library was untouched so don't worry.

That being said if you don't have it, then now may be the time to grab it.

Not that I remember.

I bought Duke Nukem Manhattan project back when it released at a budget price. Thought they'd just cut back the scope of forever and thus the price to actually get the game released on time.

On playing it, I found it was in fact nowhere near the game Duke Forever was going to be, but a rather enjoyable 2.5D platformer.

Then eventually Gearbox released Duke Forever, which really wasn't all that bad. My main problem with it was Duke seemed to be suffering an identity crisis. Gone were the open exploration levels and huge arsenal in your pockets (or where Duke carried his arsenal) in favour of the more linear and limited arsenal in vogue at the time. If they had made the levels a bit more open and let you carry every weapon at the same time it'd have been a rather good game really (in my opinion)

As it is, Manhattan project proved the more entertaining of the games. And even seemed to be more open to exploration than Forever, which is sad considering it had half a dimension less.

Duke 1 had levels somewhat like the first three Keen games, but they always more evoked the feeling of Secret Agent for me.
Duke 2...I never completed the thing, the too close camera just put me off wanting to play it anymore.

Well, I hope we'll get a last chance sale here if that happens.

In any case I already have those on Steam from the times when I didn't know any better...
Damn, its bad! Oh wait, he'll be removed from Steam. No news about GOG, and its not like I didn't download his installer anyway. Would be heartbroken if I lost access to the GOG installer of Duke Nukem 3D, and I don't want to let go of that, especially when its a better game than the Half-Dead series will ever be.
Cool thanks. I did try it out back in the day, but it never really grabbed me. I'd sooner check out the post Keen 3 games, which I completely missed.
Oh, as for those who are doubting Manhattan Project, get it. Solid shooter platformer with all the Duke talk you'll ever have. If you like Duke Nukem, there's nothing stopping you from liking Manhattan Project.

Removed games are never removed from your library. As long as you get a game before it's removed from the store, then you're good to go.
Duke Nukem 3D and MP were the reason I joined GOG D:
The feelings...
I predicted the Duke games would eventually disappear from here the instant I heard about Gearbox getting their slimy hands exclusively on the license.

Licurg: Ah shit, and I still don't own Manhattan Project here :/

Not really sure I want it, but still... I want to have the option to eventually buy it one day .
It's worth it, if only for the one liners. It was my first (voiced) duke nukem game, after which the rest were quite disappointing.
Thanks bayzent, ScotchMonkey and Marioface 5. Good info by you guys. I worried about that. :D
Quick question - what about other Apogee games, like Blake Stone or Rise of the Triad? Are these games under threat of being removed too or only Duke Nukem is at risk?

They should be fine, it's the Duke license that's changed hands.

IronArcturus: Well GOG did that giveaway sale for the Fallout classic games, but I don't know if they would do the same thing for the Duke games.
I think it was more like Interplay's final, desperate middle finger to Bethesda that did it, not GOG.
