KasperHviid:
Almost positive the GoG version has VR - it was added in a large patch.

If you get only one, grab Darkest Dungeon. Just a fantastic game - super polished, fun interesting combat, OOZES atmosphere (that narrator is amazing).

And the mechanic of the game constantly has you swapping up your party. It really encourages a lot of experimentation. Part of the fun is watching what you thing is a perfect party suck hard. And on the flip side, once in a while you're forced to toss a suboptimal group out into a run... and are totally surprised as they just "gel" together with all sorts of synergies. And just maybe they become your new A team.
If you don't mind InDev games I would highly recommend Dead Cells, have had so much fun with that game and is very rewarding later in the game. It's very well made, no bugs that I've seen and already have a lot of areas you can visit.

I'd definitely disagree with the classification of this as a roguelike. It's randomly generated, but that's about the only similarity.
Everybody seems to have a different definition of rogue-like as I would not consider most of these games to be rogues or rogue-likes.

That being said I always learn of new games when I check out these lists, so thanks.

The game I that is the most interesting on this list for me is Dead Cells, but I am not buying it before it releases. A game has to be a known quantity for me to do that again. I bought No Man's Sky day of release first thing and it was a massive turd. But I will be buying Dragon Quest XI in advance because I know what to expect and what I am getting.

I don't think any of these games with few exceptions (Tangledeep, CotND played as a Bard class) are roguelikes. What does the term even mean, these days? There are even FPS games in the list, building game, action games...
90% of these aren't roguelikes at all. What game are you playing at?

Yeah, perhaps roguelites or roguelike-likes would be a better title for the thread.
Hand of Fate is pretty cool, really nice pickup and play feel to it. Still not played the second one yet, soon I shall fix this!

Picked this one up in the sale along with the DLC. Thinking of firing it up after I finish Hard West.

Hope you enjoy! It starts off a little slow, but once it gets into the swing of things you'll have fun.

Thanks! I'll probably install the thing tonight. You know, with the intention of just having it ready to play. Not going to start it until I finish the current game I'm playing. Right, that's it. Not going to maybe just fire it up for a few minutes to see what it's like. Yeah... :P

I feel you, I was like that with Transistor a few years ago

^This is why I rarely finish a game.
