This is not about 4K! You can list and comment the games you'd like to play this year. And you can come back here to mark it as played/completed if you wish. It doesn't have to be completed, and it can be on any system.

I'll begin with whatever comes to my mind, expecially older titles that I have never completed

✓ Agony 1992 Amiga
Talisman: Origins base game at least, possibily with all achievements
✓ Stasis
Cayne
Dark Forces
Heretic
Hexen
Quake
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Albion
Downwell - could never beat the final boss
✓ Super Hexagon . been trying for years to get 60 seconds in every stage
Butcher - still have to beat the final boss on Hard
Devil Daggers - beat my time in a consistent way - now about 90 seconds

Edit
Al-Qadim another game I haven't completed for some reason, I was enjoying it immensely
Of course there's much more I'd like to play but these would give me some sense of closure. In general I'd like to have the satisfaction of cleaning some "backlog". I feel bad having so many non completed good games.

Clive Barker's Undying great, maybe playing from scratch might be less fun but I was having a great time out of the mansion.

Blasphemous DLC Stir of Down, it was released late on GOG and I messed up my game losing my guilt all over the place and was not able to get it better (when you die you leave guilt in that spot like souls in Dark Souls). I hope I don't have to start from scratch because the base game was hard enough once and I had to beat the final boss twice for a bug - that's been now fixed :)

This is realistically a lot of stuff already plus the newer games I want to play! I think it was good for me to make this list as a reference and I'll be back at the end of the year and see what I managed to do.

Addendum:
I have been amazingly gifted a copy of Disco Elysium. And it has received a complete German translation. It's not conceivable that I don't give it priority after I have finished Stasis. I'm sure it's going to be very hard and crammed with words I don't know, but also fun!

Other top list old games I never completed:
Dune (Cryo, 1992) - a 2021 GOG release would be amazing, exp. coming with the soundtrack
Touché: The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer (Clipper, 1995) - now I have a NDS again so I might play it there :)

Also, among newer games:
Lovecraft's Untold Stories - I've rage-quitted this one for a while
✓ Mother Russia Bleeds

Good thing I'm single now (ahah). Hopefully my next boyfriend likes watching me play videogames XD

me too :D bg3 looks awesome
Finish these...
- Bug Fables
- La-Mulana
- Half-Life
- Persona 4 Golden

I'm pretty sure I'm close to done with Half-Life.
Bug Fables has me hooked so that'll probably be next.
The other two i'll just chip away at lol, since Cyber Shadow comes out soon and i can't miss that. That might get me into a platformer mood. I have Ys Origin and some Shovel Knight DLC I've been eyeing.

btw Bug Fables is very good.
I'd love to finish a bunch of console games I bought years ago, along with some PC games that have remained installed for far longer than necessary, as well as complete all Ys games currently available on PC, in preparation for Ys IX's release (already dealt with Ys Origin and Ys I)

- Bangai-O Spirits (done)
- Baten Kaitos Origins
- Chrono Trigger (done)
- Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut (done)
- Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair (done)
- The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
- Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (done)
- Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (done)
- Loom
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
- Monster World IV (done)
- Rogue Galaxy
- Rune Factory Frontier
- Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes
- Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
- Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
- Shining Force
- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader
- The Warriors (done)
- Wonder Boy in the Monster World (done)

Edit: Ys: Memories of Celceta is down.
Edit 2: Ys: The Oath in Felghana is no more.

I don't know, I've almost run out of unplayed games in my library I'm really interested in, only things left are games I'm not that keen on (though I might still try them) or games which don't run on my 10-year old laptop and which I have set aside until I get a new one. Only exception is "Return of the Obra Dinn" which sounds like a really interesting concept.
As for your list, "Albion" and "Dark forces" are really great, I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did.

yea yea.. oke .. well i do like to add some of the titles i wanna finish

This year i aim to finish at least one campaign and/or game in :

Shadow Empire
Total War Warhammer : Mortal Empires
Per Aspera
Age of Wonders : Planetfall
Civilization : beyond Earth

As a special note i'm hoping to win Necron, T'au and Eldar campaigns in Gladius 40k

I hope to finish

Fantasy General 2 , the long campaign
Sara's story in Mass Effect Andromeda ( please stay away bugs, please )
My gang nerd in Cyberpunk 2077
Battlestar Galactica : Deadlock, season 1
Star Renegades
Ace Combat 7 : Skies unknown
Airborne Kingdom
Act of Agression
Pillars of Eternity
Kingdoms of Amalur, remastered
Final Fantasy XV
I've been looking forward to replaying Kentucky Road Zero since the last act came out a few months ago. A Short Hike and Mutazione are also on my gaming resolutions list, alongside Spiritfarer, Röki, and a few interactive fiction games like Sam Barlow's Aisle.

Dogmaus: Super Hexagon . been trying for years to get 60 seconds in every stage

Buy yourselves a medal if any of you manage to achieve such feats.

Dogmaus: This is not about 4K!
Aren't there any games with 8K textures yet? (I'm pretty sure that 8K resolution support already exists for a while)
Anyway, ignore the previous - it's off-topic.

I'm planning on finishing Pillars of Eternity this year. High up on my backlog (since forever) are:
Neverwinter Nights 1* and 2, Icewind Dale 1* and 2.
*played both for 1/5 (just a guess) so I'll have to start over.

I'd like to play Baldur's Gate 3 in a finished state... maybe by the end of the year and finishing it somewhere in 2022?

Also: Pillars of Eternity 2, Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2, The Witcher 3

It's usually these huge RPGs that feel like 'plans'. Even though I (try to) play games a lot faster than I used to, I still seem to be a lot slower than most people ( https://howlongtobeat.com/ ).

I resolve to sharply limit the number of news games I buy, while my already massive backlog looms over me. Of that backlog, the following spring to mind as games I want to finish.

Arc the Lad 3 and Suikoden 2--two PSX JRPGs that I own on the Vita; I've recently been reminding myself of what a lovely machine the Vita actually was.

Danganronpa 3 -- I had ambitions of watching the Danganronpa anime before playing 3, but all those ambitions did was ensure that I never got around to playing 3. Time to fix that!

Divinity: Original Sin 1 -- Maybe. I got pretty far into this, and then stopped for some reason. If I find it easy to get back into, I'll finish it this year. If not, and I'm faced with starting again from the beginning, I'll probably put it aside for a good while, maybe try again in 2025 or whatever.

Stasis -- Much like Divinity: OS, a game I just kind of stopped playing, but still have the save files for.

Persona 5 -- 3 and 4 were two of my favorite games ever, and 5's just sat there in my backlog. What's up with that?

Higurashi -- I'm playing (reading?) this now. It's a major visual novel that I've always wanted to experience, but never got around to, somehow.

Fate/Stay Night -- Again, a major visual novel that I've always meant to get around to.

Dragon Quest XI -- A Christmas gift from my brother. I'll definitely play and enjoy this, but probably it will have to wait; maybe until next winter--I just finished DQVIII, and there are already a number of lengthy JRPGs on this list.

Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder -- Another long-standing ambition, in spite of its somewhat ambivalent reviews.

No doubt other games will be added to this list, and some games on it will be swapped out; but it looks like my work has finally quieted down a little, so I hope to make the most of that, after not finishing many games last year.

Fixed. :)

Good luck, that one's fucking hard. :-)

Amazing choices. Be prepared to have a few long sessions with Dark Forces - no mid-level saving at all, and some of them are pretty huge and can take a few hours if you care to explore. Unless you use a source port, of course.

----------

My own:

As always, don't force myself to anything. But if/when NVidia or AMD (still undecided) get their act together and can deliver actual hardware, I really want to play Cyberpunk 2077 with more than 30 FPS and low settings.

And I guess in Summer it's Witcher 3 another time... maybe hit the 1,500 hours in that game...

I want to get into NWN2, I really missed that when it came out, and have owned it here for ages now. Especially because MotB.

I've already started Disco Elysium, that's probably to next to serious finish.

Tyranny has also been sitting in ready-position for a while now.

I finish Civilization : beyond Earth on Apollo it's not that hard then it looks trick is just to steal all tech and keep making wonders.

and at the end of the tech you are unstoppable do to the tech mastery
Clear as much backlog as I can. I have many but not too many games on my (digital) shelves left to play and I want to make way for some fresh, newer titles because after 11 (or is it 12?) years, I am FINALLY gonna build a new PC!

pkk234: - La-Mulana
some Shovel Knight DLC I've been eyeing.
I found both really hard, not sure if I can manage to finish them in 2021 but I might have another shot at the Shovel Knight DLCs, as I like the characters more than SK himself. Also, there's a new game coming from Yacht Club Games, Cyber Shadow... I'd like to have cleared AK before I approach it. :)
