No article this time but a bit of a good news update: It seems the "covington smile" kid is now suing NBC(or CBS....I forbget which) for 200+ million. I hope he wins, tbh......people looking down on him for simply smiling/standing around & dragging his name through the mud/making threats against him seems way too nasty imo.

Article 6(I wonder if anyone even reads these) - Dominos worker beats up co-worker who spoils Avengers Endgame

URL Warning: It's foxnews, so take it with a grain of salt as to fact checking.

I find it sad, though, if it is true(even partially). To me, I don't get why someone would go so far as to beat someone up over a spoiler(I understand getting upset internally to some degree, however).

They present a source from the police in the article, why should we take it with a grain of salt when they present sources in their article? Just because it's Fox? Everything needs to be fact checked, not just news from news outlets you dislike.

tbh, people who care about those idiotic superhero movies are probably pretty stupid anyway, it's not surprising such people have low impulse control and violent tendencies.

I was just trying to remain fair-be transparent, especially as seeing how many see foxnews as less than credible.

To be fair there are outliers/bad apples in all walks of life. I was posting this more to show the overall state of humanity's problems and less to focus on people who get mad to such a degree at spoilers.

Article 7 - Teacher quits after seeing conditions in public schools decline for teachers/students

I feel bad when I read the bits about teachers(teaching our future generations, leaders/great thinkers/etc) getting paid peanuts and having to pay for stuff the school/gov't should provide out of pocket. :\

Article 8 - Bar denies Sikh customer because his turban violated dress code

Basically, the man was turned down because the bar in question has a policy against ANY headcoverings during certain hours/events as(it would seem) a safety measure, and he started making it out as if the bar was turning him down because of his faith.

From the article: “I was not allowed to practice my religion,” he tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “It’s not justifiable.”

Disclaimer: I have no problem with anyone practicing their faith(or lack thereof), but when people conflate a general dress code with religious intolerance it irks me to no end. If you want to enter a private establishment then you have to follow the rules set in place by said establishment.....or else find another establishment to frequent.

Why do people feel the need to justify/explain/apologise for everything they've written? Have you done anything wrong? NO, so stop apologizing! All I read is "I better make a statement about my statement in case some have a problem with my first statement.". :P

But yes, just as when someone immigrates to a country they should abide by that country’s rules/laws. If they don't like it then get the duck out, or back to where ever they came from. Every country has several of those immigrants that either try to scare/manipulate people to do/give what they want, or they try to put on the victim mask just to get attention and then manipulate the whole situation to their own advantage.

There's a reason as to why England has partly forbidden to speak against immigrants, and did pass a law where essentially everyone could be framed for / accused of "hatespeach" and put in jail, and why Norwegians are seen as gullible / too nice / easy to manipulate.

Disclaimer: It's actually 17. May today, one of Norways biggest day of the year. I'm going back to playing my game and enjoy a peaceful shooting of monsters and other magical sand-crabs. Oh, I have my trusted waffled strawberry ice-cream (doped up with chocolate) with me at all time, and I already ate the hot-dog ;)

1. I do it because many online seem to equate anything(posts/links/etc) pertaining to/about a certain group as the poster disliking said group/etc.

2. I somewhat agree that newcomers to a new land should do their best to assimilate, but this latest post was more about just following the rules set in place by private business & not taking them as personal attacks upon individual customers.

3. Imo, hate speech should be discouraged but to put people in jail over saying some words seems crazy to me.

4. Enjoy your day/food, at any rate....and thanks for making a positive contribution to the thread. :)

Hey all, i'm back with another news tidbit:

Article 9 - Maine bans indian/native american mascots statewide in schools

Now i'm not a fan of how native americans have been treated by humanity/the gov't, but you'd think dealing with the fact that we took their land/placed them on small(comparatively) reservations/gave them handouts which got them hooked to such for generations would be higher on the priorities list than worrying about some carcicatures of natives on school buildings/merchandise.

Heck, they could've been generous instead and kept the mascots but paid licensing fees for such to the various tribes in Maine. This would've generated income they could've used to better their tribes/themselves and helped them a bit...or at least more than just hoping that banning mascots of native americans in the state would somehow cure all of their ills.

(Also in the majority of cases I don't even think the mascots were originally made to be offensive/derogatory towards indians)

In other words we BOTH wrote about people who can't / won't abide by local rules, twists something into a racial/demeaning/"I'm the victim" way, and makes a whole scene/show around it. (Kinda like when a child has been denied his/hers ice-scream and makes a big scene on the shopping-mall...)

You and me speak the same language, yet, somehow, speaks past each other :P

This is one of the "great things" about having so many languages/dialects/etc....mistranslations/misinterpretations can and do often happen. :)

-The closing of the FM radio net in Norway-

I don't have a specific article to ref to, nor is it exactly new... but in short:

The politicians in Norway, against every expert / specialists warning and other major tech national groups, decided to close down the FM net, and force everyone over to DAB (a technology that is vastly inferior to both FM and internet radio).

That's what we get from not having 100% transparency on every lobby-meetings... and the other countries are not wrong when they are shaking their heads to this decision.

Not to mention that DAB is from the 80's, streams at a lower quality bit-rate, needs a broader bandwidth, hasn't the same coverage as FM, and is already out-shined by wireless internet radio (be it 3G, 4G, 5G et al). As a topping on the cake; the price on DAB client is excruciating high... 150-350 USD is not unusual for a car setup. Even higher if it's a new car with a built-in radio system and you want to replace it all instead of having a simple DAB-to-FM receiver/sender.

And subsequently, millions of perfectly working radios are needlessly thrown into an already high garbage mountain.
