darkgriffin: Hi all.

Anyone seen Sim City 4 go on flash sale? I haven't been keeping track of the flash bundles as well as I should. I'd normally not be too picky about the 10 bucks except that's all I have left in paypal and my bank hates this site. I'd really hate to buy SC4 only to find out a day later I could also have picked up some other wishlisted item. :p

FoxySage: Yeah, think i saw it in a flash sale yesterday or the day before.
Thanks. At least now I know my impulsive endless staring at the sale page isn't for nothing. Hopefully since they are rerunning things, it will show up again. :)
I just noticed that movies were discounted too during the fall sale but they seem to be -40 to -50 %. Are there higher discounts to be expected or the -75 % and such only apply to games?
One of them showed up on Flash sale, 75% off, Indie Game: The Movie - Special Edition.

Movies are still a very new thing, even the new games rarely get much of a sale price until they have been in the catalog for awhile. Probably see more and bigger discounts on movies in future sales. Maybe not Winter by by Spring I'd think.

gamefood: Heeey that's not a bad i...Oooooh how cute.... baby seals! =)
*drops backup club*

CarrionCrow: Well, that's just perfect....now you'll need a backup backup club to get your backup club back from the baby seals. Don't let the big eyes fool you, they're rabid beasts!
You mean like this furry little legen-wait for it-dary bastard out of this land where knights used to have "horses" out of coco-nuts? Hmmm... actually that is a nice strategy to distract the enemy so they underestimate the real powers of it...hmmm
Know what? I'll take it with me to take care of him/her and make a strong killer seal of it! Hah! Has someone ever heard of a viking with a cute killer seal as buddy? .... See! :)

Go for it. If a ranger with persistent head trauma can have a miniature giant space hamster as a companion, a Viking with their own attack seal is certainly possible.

A viking with their own attack seal is a force to be reckoned with.

To add what you said RWarehall, while I may be wrong, relatively speaking the deep discounts for GOG games only started happening after the first few years. It used to be that 50% or even 60% was unheard-of. If my memory serves it is only within the last 2-3 years that the discounts reached anywhere near where they are now, after GOG had been selling games for years prior to that.

With movies being so new, I would be surprised that any kind of deep discount happens until at least 1 1/2 to 2 years out. And should any title (AAA for sure) currently available on DVD make it I expect it to be the Gothic of movies when it comes to sales.

Hope I am wrong of course, but only time will tell.

One movie has been on a heavier sale. Indie Game: The Movie Special Edition is the only movie so far that's a part of the ongoing flash sale. When it's up, it goes for 75 percent off.

FoxySage: I wish i could play some backlogged games. Alas, i need to wait untill my computer has been repaired. :(
That is a bummer.... I probably need an updated PC soon...(but so many old games to play, so I can put off new games...)

donsanderson: If anyone's interested in seeing This War of Mine played by Quill18 it's on Twitch in about 27 minutes.

Thanks for pointing this out! I did end up watching a bit of it. It was actually my first time ever watching a twitch and it was a lot of fun. Got a few laughs out of the user chat and really "got into" the whole playthrough more than I thought I would. Ended up watching up to Marko's miraculous return ;) Really a well done bit and I like the guy playing the game - he did a good job of keeping me engaged and I thought it was funny that I shared a lot of his reactions (poor Roxy, stumbling on the guy with the gun...).
5 stamps collected, just 2 more to go! :)

He's one of the better ones I think. I watched just enough to decide that I like the game a lot and then stopped. A few surprises are good. ;)
Today's puzzler bundle was really cool. :) A lot of Linux games and a nice discount for the Mousecraft. Thanx GOG. :D

Although I didn't really get every bundle I wanted. The start of the sale was in a bad moment for me. :)

Yes that's why I ducked out early too!

There is a possibility of an encore, so keep your fingers crossed and the wallet stocked. :-)
