Niggles: Sounds good except there are limited number of turns each game?.

IronArcturus: If I remember correctly, if you lose a battle 5 times, then the computer will win and it's game over. The turn-based aspect occurs within each battle. Each game is randomized, and when you look at the map each "town" is a separate battle. The goal is to basically keep your central base alive until the final battle. It's a very tough game, but with the promo I think it would be worth it! :)
Thanks.Might pick it up (the reviews on gog vary quite a bit though..)

Matruchus: Its not Age of Empires - not even close. You need a constant supply of ressources in this game. Ressources like wheat to feed your troops and workers. Coal and Iron for your troops to shoot bullets and shells. Units fight in formations. Using cannoncs in this game is very important. You have technology advancement that really affects the battlefield. I highly recommend the game. A word of caution though its quite a long game and higly replayable. Its a true RTS classic.

IronArcturus: Do you know if the series can run in a window?
No windowed mode unfortunately. Couldn't find any online data on how to make it work.

Ours is not to reason why,
It is to go, and buy.
Inner World: good game or so-so adventure?

RandomJC: I want Ether One. Anyone can talk me out of it?

RandomJC: I want Ether One. Anyone can talk me out of it?
just buy it :p(it's cheaper than gamers gate which had it at £3.79 it's now back to being full price)

i foolishly bought the normal one this morning at £6 something or 7.51 Euro, now the deluxe version is £3.69 or about 4.62 Euro (at this point i'd usually put a crying smilley but gog doesn't have them :(

as said it's cheaper than what it was, so what the heck :-)
Kentucky Route Zero. Any comments on this? :)

a very lovely point and click game with truly amazing art and atmosphere. definitely recommended.

Btw. is anyone having problems with paying ? I've just got an error referring to some technical problems. Could this also mean insufficient balance on my card? Never had this message before.

Thank you. Can you also tell me how are the puzzles and if the story is nice but not childish?

About that message, I think that I got it in the past only during heavy loads or when I had problems with my card.

Yes, the story is nice and at some points really heartwarming. I would not say it is childish, but it is also far from the complexity that would make it difficult to expect a few events in the game.

Puzzles are fair, I can't remember getting stuck or looking for solutions on the web because of an illogical puzzle. They are pretty fair. The characters are interesting and very likeable, the player will have a lot of very funny and strange conversation with them while wandering around Asposia, I had quite a lot of loud laughs. The world and the setting itself is one of the most innovative in the genre in the last few years. Oh, have I mentioned the soundtrack yet? :-)

Edit: the closest thing I could compare The Inner World to, is Deponia. I have only played the first Deponia, and haven't beat it yet, but they have several aspects in common. On the other hand, I liked TIW more than Deponia (at least based on what I have seen from Deponia so far).

Waiting on a better Kentucky Route Zero discount; it seems promising but not too big a point and click fan. Winter sales are around corner.

To add to what vrick wrote, the puzzles are standard p&c fare, they range from easy to quite obscure, with the typical weird item combinations and such. Not that they're illogical when explained, but for some you really have to think laterally. There's a detailed in-built hint system though in case you get stuck: on demand, it will give you a hint for each step required for the task in question, one after another, until it finally reveals the solution, so you won't ever need a walkthrough but you can also ignore the hint system or use it only very sparingly.
