Torchlight and Overlord are up. Torchlight 2 and Overlord 2 really need to be here. Especially Overlord 2.
Has anyone tried that Jazzpunk game?

Got it when it came out and loved it.

So is it like an FPS puzzle game? Is there an objective?

gamesfreak64: well if you know the avernum from spiderwebs games, to me they look kinda same, avernum might have a better system but they do look very similar,.
I like to fight with bugs that are 2x or more the size of the player,a ccording to some screenshots i saw the player
on a screenshot fighting with bugs bigger then the main character, and given the lower price it was a nice offer.
So basically every game has a price at which i will buy them and try them, (3d FPP is however a nono to me)
Some games are worth the full price like jagged alliance, fallout, c&c, redalert (no 3d versions)
I bought those at the default price cause i also bought them once they came out on cd/dvd in the past,
and some games will be okay if the price is much lower, every game has his value.

I played many games in the past 35 years, have seen a lot, most of the games look like the same, but in a different way.

Basically there's a number of game types(systems) (tetris, chess/checkers/match 3,etc etc )
and everything else is based upon that system.

Its just made differnt by adding differnt graphics, there are many topics on the internet explaing the very basics
of how the games have evolved from some very basic game types, its quite interesting to read.

Stix or sticks, draw lines and conquer the 'land' on c64 amiga and pc they seem to sell well in the old days
now these games have a new look:
fortix and fortix 2 (nice games)
bases on the good old styx/sticks/stix (these names differ but basically its all the same)
Plus loads of the good old tower defense, i have a few of them (no 3d)
I like 2d, its clean and clear.
I see ! I saw the spiderweb bundle, I wasn't able to resist and made a "extreme-big expense" (for me) and bought it : it looked so promising, and finally I purchased it ! (thanks to the demo who helped me a lot to decide)
I tried a little the first Avernum for now... Really fascinating ! (but hard too : first time I try this kind of RPG, and the first episode, even very exciting (freedom and writing particularly), has an interface that I would qualified as "rough"). Well, when I'll have finished some episodes of the Avernum and Geneforge series, I'll take a look and think about Eschalon.

Totally agree with you about prices.

Talking about 2D games, I would advice you 2 games I like if you didn't know them already. First one is Defender's Quest, a great game mixing tower defense and a little bit RPG elements in an intersting way (and it's a good tower defense, I don't hook a lot to this kind of game usually), and in second, Moonbase Commander, a very good turn-based strategic game, using core principles of strategy games in an unclunttered [not sure it is the word I wanted but I don't know how to say it] way.

And thank you for your answer :D

IronArcturus: Got
There are "objectives" and a "plot", but really it's just roaming around and seeing all the funny events and references. If you're familiar with spy movies, Star Wars, and Cold War, it should be entertaining.

First person. They have mini games and whatnot.

Thanks for the info!
Welp bought OVERLORD + RAISING HELL and ASCENDANT now too. Damn you GOG.com and your tempting flash sales. Damn you! :P
I'm missing some classics in flash deals. Most of them are Indies or newer titles but not so many good old games. I guess they sell even without special discounts.

Exactly. I've heard Torchlight 2 is better in pretty much every way to its predecessor, sucks that it isn't on here.

Agreed; I'm still waiting on Myst, Sierra and Descent bundles. Plus Little Big Adventure 1 & 2.

Still a few days left though; they may still come.

I can only agree about Defender's Quest. I'm not too much into tower defense games myself, but DQ I really enjoyed because of its underlying RPG mechanics and its very polished UI and accessibility. The story might be a bit obscure at the start, but once you're into it, you can't stop playing.

Have never played Moonbase Commander but checked it out right now. It sounds way more interesting than the screenshots might let on. Wishlisted it for now.

disi: ...

//edit: How does that "Money-back guarantee It works, we guarantee it" even work on 6+ months pre-orders?
Of course the first of the 30 days of the money-back-guarantee timespan is the release day.

It's probably just a matter of time with Torchlight 1 already being here and Runic being a really nice and friendly developer, as far as I can tell.
