WOW!

Should of used that money to give to a charity to help homeless people or something good.

Not on that stuff.
Screwed by short int.

Valve needs to update their coding standards around the fact some of their community is bat shit insane.
Valve is making money by each and every electronic item and card sold in their community market. It keeps a fee for EVERY TRANSACTION, meaning that they have devised a lucrative way to make LOADS of MONEY from ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Even if you just sell the free cards you get by playing games, even then Valve keeps a small share of what you take. It's nuts. Apparently, if you look at the stats of the community market, there are countless of such transactions daily. Again: Valve is making money out of thin air. Why didn't I think of that first?!

Because most of us are driven by a sense of common decency and honesty.

Most of us anyway.

No, fuck that. If I had thought of it I'd do it. :P
First world problems....But seriously, spending so much on a virtual item...One that isn't actually useful, except the usual bragging rights...can't even think about it...

This has damaged by brain a little, what is a steam card/badge and why on earth does money change hands for them? I've read the link but I just don't get this at all...

I'm too old methinks.

It's not nuts, it's fucking GENIUS. People who want cards (and there are many of them) get cards. Valve and the publishers get a fresh stream of income for almost no effort. Best of all, people like me who aren't interested in cards get enough money to buy loads of games from selling trading cards and booster packs. EVERYBODY HAPPY!

Yes, I'm aware it's genius. That's why I'm coveting it. I wanted that idea for myself. Everyone's looking for a way to make money for nothing (and chicks for free) and Valve's found it.
