Magic_Of_Light: Yeah :\ i didnt see that thread when i posted. I looked through the first 2 pages too. Too bad you cant delete your own thread. So now many more people will come in to troll hard about how different places do the date differently, and also point out how there is already a thread on it.

Well, I kinda get it. They just want to be different from rest of the world like a special snowflake, hence those dates, Fahrenheits, inches and such. A bit like North Korea came up with its own timezone between other timezones and their very own calendar, the Juche Calendar.

But at least it is not as bad as in Australia, where the clock actually goes counterclockwise. Something to do with how their side of the globe rotates to the opposite direction as the rest of the world. Also their seasons are all messed up, summer in January etc. "I'm dreaming of a brown Christmas...", yeah right.

GOG is following the international ISO 8601 standard: the year-month-day order.

Just checked the original picture.

its posted in ISO 8601 Standard format (Well with dots not dashes) but it is the best way of writing dates as it allows numeric sorting.

MM-DD-YYYY is just daft.

Wow, Hungary and Lithuania are cool! They apparently use the ISO format!

I am surprised there are different ways within EU, I would have thought some EU directive threates with a capital punishment if some country uses a different system, a bit like the directive for the Daylight Saving,

As do the OP, he's hyped for the 2016'th day of the first month, in the 12'th year. Now, which planet this would be on, and what recent event was big enough to start counting years from 0 (human's arrival, perhaps?), I don't know.

I still have a T-shirt which has some kind of slogan about partying like it is 1999, I think I got it (for free) in late 1999 or early 2000. And it is still quite usable, but I don't dare to use it on public because of the text, too retro. I've used it quite a lot in the gym etc. though.

In 1999 they used to make clothes that last! A 17 years old T-shirt, still usable. Nowadays I am happy if a T-shirt lasts a couple of years before there are holes in it and the seams start to break up.

At least they're taking economic responsibility. Money is meant to be moving around, not growing stale in your bank account for twenty-odd years until you need to get a new t-shirt next time.
