Not working on Windows 7. Intro videos are ok, but then it all goes black and I have to press ctrl-alt-del to stop the game.
Please send an email to our Support department along with a DxDiag file and a detailed description of exactly what happens. Thanks :D
It works fine for me win7 32bit
Try your game with 256color.
Also works fine for me on Win7 64bit
It is NOT working for me :-(...

I tried compatibility mode and running in 256 colors... I experience the very same problem the OP has stated:

The intro works fine but then the screen goes black. You can still hear sound/noises and move the move but you won't see anything and you can't click on anything.

Unplayable, very bad GOG :-(.

Btw. I do not know what a dxdiag file is or how I can acquire one...

Well. Try this:

Open Notepad
Inside notepad write this:

taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
start /w Gangsters.exe
start explorer.exe

Then click Save As.

Remember to save as "All files" not as as ".txt" and save the file as "fix.bat"

Save the file to your desktop or My Documents folder. Then copy this file to your "Gangsters" game folder where the game exe is.

Make a shortcut to desktop and use this to start the game.
It might be a video card driver problem rather then Wiindows 7 problem per se.

Thanks man, that worked perfectly. No idea what any of it means, but thanks all the same :D
What this .bat file does is closing explorer while playing the game.

A lot of older games have color problems on win 7 and the .bat file you made fixes this.

If you have similar problem with other games just replace the
"start /w Gangsters.exe" with any other game exe name, as in
"start /w fallout.exe"
Cool, I'll keep that in mind.

One issue, it didn't happen yesterday, but today when I quit out of gangsters my taskbar at the bottom of the desktop disappeared when i quit out of gangsters leaving just a black space. Would you no a fix for that rather than rebooting?

EDIT: No worries, figured it out. For anyone wondering you open up task manager, hit Flie/Run then type in explorer.

Thanks again OP1

Hey OP1,

this actually does not work for me ;-( ;-( ;-( I experience the very same problem with the bat file. And the bat file is actually working as I can see the explorer/interface closing before the game starts.

Do you have any other ideas where the problem could be? I love this game :-(...

Thanks,
Stefan
If this doesn`t work for some of you it goes beyond my knowledge of computers so
I cant help any further.

Can mention another tool that might be helpful running older games:

Google this: cpu affinity tool

Makes games running on a single cpu core that normally would just not work properly or crash on a multi core system.

Had the game neither showing or anything else on start on Windows XP Pro , plus desktop froze until Gangsters.exe were killed by taskmanager .
Your fix worked on that too... , Thanks !

Now only remains that the tutorial doesn't seem to be very good (or not working properly ?) , and the game does not appear to have in game options settings for sound, and so on..... so I am not really not that motivated to play it....
Oh! Well ! - another couple of dollars spent on something that I think that I will never really want to play...
