Just bought Gangsters, but having some issues with the mouse.

In the menu the mouse moves fine, but when I start the game the mouse moves really slow and jittery. Very hard to play like this.

Anyone got any ideas how to fix it?

PLease contact our Support department and make sure to attach a DxDiag to your email, this will give us exactly what you have on your system (no personal info of course so no worries there :D).
Sorry, this should be a on different post.

I am having a slightly different problem. I am running the game in an XP Mode virtual machine, and when I start it up (on two different XP Mode "machines") the main menu looks fine, even though it is below normal screen resolution. Looks like it switches to a 640x480 to play the intro videos and display the main menu, then when I load up a tutorial, it switches to 1024x768 (these resolutions appear to happen regardless of what I have my desktop set to).

When it goes into the first tutorial screen, the mouse cursor is nowhere to be seen. There is a weird shifting pattern of graphical distortion, a spot of it jumping continually around the screen. If I move the mouse a little I can sometimes see the cursor (a mouse pointer in a circle with a line through it) in the far upper left of the window, though the glitch continues. My XP Mode is fully updated, as is Direct X, and I have unchecked the "enable pointer precision" box for the mouse int he Control Panel to no avail. It is totally unplayable at present.

What about pointer integration? (The feature that lets you share one mouse pointer between the vm and your real desktop.) You need to turn that off too, since it's incompatible with anything that uses DirectInput in a certain way for mouse control, causing exactly the issues you describe.

You may have to launch the vm in a window rather than seamless mode to disable pointer integration, but I would be surprised if the fullscreen resolution switches worked in seamless mode anyway, so possibly you already did...

Why're you running in a vm anyway? Any particular problem with running it natively?
Ah, you're a genius. I uninstalled the integration components package (because you can't disable mouse pointer integration for some reason) and it fixed that particular problem. I was running it in XP Mode because I don't particularly want to run it (or most of these old games) stretched and fullscreen. It would be fantastic if GOG could include a way to window these old games like DOSBox, but that seems unlikely.

Ah, fair enough. A vm probably is the most painless way to get it in a window then. Gangsters combines 8 bit colour with gdi, which is always a nasty combination to try and hack at.
Was this particular issue ever resolved?

EDIT: Actually, nevermind. Seems my mouse problem corrected itself. Apparently, my system is self-aware. XD

I also have a issue with my mouse.

the game loads fine and i am able to play for a few moments.

some how, the cursor will no longer move, however, the game is not frozen.

even after i exit the game my mouse is not responsive, i have to restart my computer it for it to work again.

i am using the version downloaded from gog with no xp virtual box. i tried to download one but i only have windows 7 home premium.

i also downloaded the direct x exe suggested from the support page.

I don't know how to do the Dxdiag thing but I have an issue with my game. On Gangsters, I get on the menu and there is no text on the menu's screen
