The
update patches that I made were in response to the
highly flawed 2006 releases. VU gave no official support for them, but instead directed their customers to their forums for support. I was a regular on the official forums, and was the only one that was able to give support. In essence, I was VU's support for the collections. I invested around $90US buying all four collections so I could analyze what they did wrong, and there was so much wrong. I got tired of guiding people through how to manually fix their collections, plus there was the problem of all the missing files, so I decided to provide the missing files and to automate it. That is when I created the patches.
I wish GOG could consult with me before releasing the Sierra AGI or SCI games. At least refer to my site. Even if all they did was to use my installers to prepare the games before they packaged them, there would be far fewer errors with their releases. I say this not out of vanity, but because I care so much about these great games. I know a lot of the potential problems that they will encounter with these games and could help them avoid them.
epmode: _Zenger_'s solution definitely improves the sound quality but I still get occasional garbled audio. Sounds like a second or two of audio compressed to a quarter-second so I wind up missing a word here and there.
Any ideas?
