Not a glitch but the actual interface they decided to use for the game is absolutely horrid. They seemed to have spent all their dev time creating a 3d interface but forgot the actual gameplay. I spent 10minutes in the first scene just trying to move around the room, the mini panel that displays with hotspots is unfathomable. Having multiple zoom functions that have the same voice over result does not add to game enjoyment, it only adds to aggravation. I never seen such a convoluted, overly complicated interface for a point and click game before. Add in the nausea that comes from an unnecessary 3d camera function and I have to say this sucks big time.

I have played other games that used 3d camera on a static images before and that never works. You end up hunting for the perfect camera angle in order to get the game to activate 'proper' actions, which are missed in all the other camera angles you blunder into. Its a gimmick that adds nothing to gameplay, but I could live with that, but the mini toolbar is just too unintuitive to get past. I mean seriously, why does a simple hotspot of an end table have to involve mutliple zooms, interactions and camera angle adjustments in order to just 'look' at the bloody thing. Unplayable tripe

and then there is Tim Curry again, after GK2 I really cant stomach his version of Gabriel, its just too obtrusive, horrible accent and smarmy. I love love me some Tim Curry but for this he really was out of place

what a shame, I really looked forward to this installment of the story

thought I would put a negative review out there to give a heads up to other people out there to counter all constant 5star reviews out there on gog for every bloody game no matter the title.
Its not horrible but it takes a lot to get used to. It was a early 3D adventure game, so it isn't the best system.

What??? GK2 Gabriel Knight was played and voiced by Dean Erickson, not Tim Curry. And I have heard that Tim Curry made GK3 voice after he suffered a stroke, so I would cut him some slack.

I'm not sure exactly, but I'm pretty sure he had his stroke in 2012 or 2013. Not back when he made GK3.

His mom died around 1999 though.

I said 'after gk2' which means that after gk2 with erickson I cant stomach blah blah blah
The interface is truly awful. When I first started GK2 I felt I'd never be able to finish it because of how hideous and brown and dull everything was but I pushed through the slow start and grew to really enjoy it. I was never able to do that with GK3.
It's not bad, just takes a little getting used to, I actually like how the mouse-clicking and controlling workds for that game compared to a lot of 3D games from those years. Give yourself a little time moving around the room and the hotel and by the time you're ready to go exploring (oh and this game really lets you feel like you are wandering around looking for clues, but not in a bad way, it is great!), you really should be good to go and it should be intuitive to move around. The manual might help make it make more sense for learning. It's a great game, definitely worth the learning curve of the interface.
I for my part love GK3's controls. Ok, you need some minutes to get used to it. But instead of a rigid postcard-like game experience you can view places from all possible angles. That gives me a very different and much more dynamic feeling of exploration. It's one of the things that make this game special in my heart. It's a little bit like the later Tex Murphy-games, if you crawl around an look for clues you feel much more part of the scene, part of a "real" world than in other adventures. It feels like really having a trip to south france. Try to get used to it and you'll be rewarded with a unique gaming experience.

(to the voice acting: the first sentences I heard from Curry were horrible to hear for me, but strange enough, I don't want to miss his acting now. I can't stand the sissy-voiced Gabriel from part 2 instead ;) )
