You can't access the game's menu when it is in the middle of a cut scene. Wait until the game is in idle, first.

Thanks for the reply, I had to start the game over again and replay the first day. I had the same problem but it went away after getting to the second day. Strange I know. It wasn't during a cutscene either, it was throughout several different locations.
At any rate, it seems to have gone away. Thanks again.

I ran into the same problem with my old CD version. Menu is grayed out, noticed it at the end of day 2 where I wanted to save. Didn't fix itself to day 3 but I guess I'll try to continue a while to see if it would go away. Can always grab a later save if this doesn't get fixed...

I encounter the same problem occasionally.

The game menu icon would become disabled and can not be accessed no matter what I do. Once disabled, I haven't managed to get it to work again without closing the game.
It is very annoying, since once this happens, it means all progress since last save is lost (being unable to save again). I've written to support about it a couple of days ago, but still no response.

I started playing the game yesterday and encountered the same problem after gaming for about three hours; without saving a single time, of course. I restarted the game but the problem still persists... Something really ought to be done, it's pretty unfair to sell the game with this kind of a major glitch without a warning .

I'm having the same problem right now! And I'm in day 6, so obviously, this is a problem that persists throughout the game. And this is just one of MANY bugs I've encountered that have forced me to restart the game, another thing that happens frequently is the game freezing during dialogues.... Typical that support takes their time to answer.... and when they do, they'll probably evade the question. It's really sad too, because the game itself is really awesome, but I can't remember the last time I spent money for something with such a number of gamebreaking bugs.

EDIT: I can now see that the first post about this issue was posted nearly 3 years ago!!!
And still no fix? Still no warning to customers that the game is more bug-infested than an ant-hill? Bad GoG... Bad!.. I allready had a terrible experience with Adventure Shop and their customer service (or rather, their lack of) but you too, GoG? I'm not mad, just very, very disappointed.

This has nothing to do with the issue. The issue is that even when idle, the menu is disabled and you can't save your game. It just happened to me as well...very annoying to have to restart everything you've done because you can't save.

Just bought the game and encountered the same problem.

I will probably restart the game and save more often, but it does really suck. Mostly that there is still no solution for the problem.

I was playing and the same thing happened to me, so I've been looking for the solution. The save/options icon was greyed out and unavailable for selection. I hadn't saved in awhile and didn't want to go back. It just happened that I went to make a phone call on in Gabriel's room and the save option came back right then. Hope this happens and helps others.

WELL, I MANAGED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM SOMEHOW: I ALT+TAB 2 TIMES IN THE PART OF THE GAME YOU CAN READ THE INSCRIPTIONS ON MARIE LAVAU TOMB AGAIN. AFTER I'VE ALT+TAB THESE TWO TIMES THE MENU SHOWED SOME GRPAHIC PROBLEMS AND THEN THE SAVE MENU WAS ENABLED AGAIN. WELL, DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT IT WORKED.

I had the same problem and Sergio's solution sorted it. I went back to the cemetary, looking at the marks on Marie Laveau's tomb and then alt-tabbed out of the game a few times. Eventually, going back in, the menu access was restored. The cursor went absolutely nuts, flinging around the screen, meaning I had to alt-tab in and out and few more times to get that to settle, but eventually both were back to normal and I was able to save properly.
