Frakkin hell. I spent 3 sectors with 3 bubbles of hull and no stores to find at all. I find a store to repair and restock at then 3 turns later I die to that lack of O2 bug..AGAIN. WTF is with that bug? My O2 starts dropping and wont stop even though nothing at all is damaged, no doors are open, and I have 2 crew in there to fix whatever isn't broken. It goes from 100% to 0% and we all die.

That's twice this bug has killed me.
When it is damage do you remember to turn it back on?
Ugh I think I did. You mean click it's power bar at the bottom right? Maybe I didn't. Im usually in a battle then afterwards die. That may be as simple as missing that. Lol..Ill see next time it starts dropping on me.
Yeah that should be the problem as once it gets damaged it stays offline. You need to re send power. If it happens again just take a screen shot and might be able to give more help.
Actually no, it does power back on by itself--as long as you don't touch the power on anything else. If you used the extra power somewhere else while the O2 was down, it will remained powered down and your crew will die if you don't turn it back on.

I think if you lose power in those nebulas, it also gets added to the pool later, and not back to the systems it was drained from.

Yeah, that was the problem I experienced at some point when oxygen was mysteriously going down for not apparent reason.

For me - it is always that I am in a nebula (or monitoring subsystem is down) and there is a hull breach (or multiple breaches) and I cannot find and fix them all in time...
Is that just a misconception on my part or does it really help to open all inner doors to re-oxygeniate the ship after venting ? Seems to speed up a little...

It surely helps to suffocate fire fast to open all available outer bulkheads.
And i finally managed to kill my first intruders with lack of oxygen.

I theorized the same thing, but I have yet to do a formal experiment in the matter.

The reinforced doors + opening up most of the ship minus some vital systems invasion defense totally rocks.

In some ship designs, you can even be sneaky about it and leave one path oxygenated for them to wade through while you deplete the surrounding areas of oxygen only to cut it off afterwards,

The above works wonders with the stealth ship.
Some people use that to force the enemy to the medbay, where combat becomes trivial.

That's the fallback solution, but taking it one step further is to slay them without getting your hands dirty by letting space do the work for you :P.

In a combat situation, it's best if as many crew members as possible remain busy manning systems rather than fighting (unless you have a stealth ship and can cloak during while your crew duke it out with theirs)...

What is achievable in that department really depends on the ship design and where they beam.

Reinforced doors are really a must if you go that route.

Another interesting detail is that they can't beam on your ship while you're cloaked so if you can take out the transporters fast enough, you can avoid being boarded, but then, you do leave yourself more open to retaliatory fire from their weapons, because you got less of a bang targeting their other systems with your initial salvo.

It was me forgetting to turn it back on. And yes I was in the cloud. I guess the other times when it was fine I must have been in normal space and just thought it was a bug when I was in the cloud. Thank you.

As for boarders I do enjoy a good spacing. Its a shame they don't get sucked out into space. But I also like to carry a anti personnel bot for hazard duty :)
