Greetings,
I installed version 1.5.10 on my HP Omni 10 (Windows 8.1 tablet PC). The game runs fine for maybe one quadrant but always manages to hard-lock the PC at some point. The task manager will not open and the PC is unresponsive until I do a hard-reboot. Not sure if there are any error-logs generated since it's a hard lockup. Anyone have any troubleshooting steps I could try? PC works fine otherwise although admittedly this is the only game I've played on it aside from System Shock 2.

Have you tried playing it in Compatibility Mode yet? (Right-click the game's start icon => Properties => Compatibility tab)

Yes sir, forgot to mention that... I tried "Windows 7" compatibility mode and playing with admin access. Also turned on the V-sync option in-game. I didn't find a similar option under the Intel graphics drivers.
I have no problems with it in my Windows 8.1 box.

Try playing other games. Some make the video card too hot for some systems.

Yes, FTL has by standard no frame rate limitation, meaning it will produce an unneeded amount of FPS (in my case hundreds) stressing the GPU continously on 100% load.

Activate in the options "V-sync" and/or "Frame limit" to "on".

Yes, I noticed that the back of the tablet gets pretty hot. Strangely I haven't had the crashes after the last set of Windows updates... but I've been holding the tablet away from any airflow limiting surfaces so it may be coincidence.
