The biggest Frostpunk DLC so far: ENDLESS MODE – AVAILABLE NOW for free!

11 bit studios is proud to announce that Frostpunk’s most awaited expansion – Endless Mode – has released on Steam, GOG.com, Humble Store, and more. As planned, and as promised in the development roadmap, the expansion is free for all owners of the base game.

In the time since it was announced, Endless Mode is the expansion we have seen the most feedback about on our forums, on Twitter, Facebook, and directly by email. In fact, while it was originally teased in the roadmap, the idea had taken hold within the community since the original launch of Frostpunk in April.

Forged over months at 11 bit studios, it now goes live and introduces two styles of endless play: ‘Serenity’ for the constructors who enjoy growing the city at their own pace without hard challenges, and ‘Endurance’ for survivalists looking to earn their stripes and see how long they’re able to live in the harsh cold world of Frostpunk. In both modes, new buildings are introduced to enrich the city’s architecture (including an Archives building that enables players to store lore and information in a single area), new sites can be discovered in the frostland, and new random events that may confront you with previously unknown challenges. Welcome to Endless Mode!

About the DLC:
> Endless playthrough
> 3 new maps
> 2 brand new game modes
> Randomized frostlands

> New city decorations

THANK YOU!
Finally ;-) After almost 2 months of Frostpunk abstinence, the weather outside matches the game. My winter is saved :-)
thanks, I have already sunk a few good hours into this.
Even if I don't manage to play anytime soon I think this just convinced me to purchase, keep up the great work.

The same for me. Now with the endless mode I finally bought it.

But I noticed that the full setup files for version 1.3.0 are actually named setup_frostpunk_1.2.0...
And the patches below are Patch 1.2.1 to 1.2.0
A bit confusing.

I downloaded and installed the latest update and it is indeed the 1.3.0 'Endless' update. The numbers are only wrong on the download page.

No worries!
Time to remove AC: Odysey and Civ6, make some space to install Frostpunk
Hello! Though update is awesome, the game in endless mode is TOO EASY.

The very first try with "extreme" difficulty led to absolute - win - the city is completely self-sustained, 100 days. Nothing of interest happens except childish sheduled difficulties

Maybe Im doing smth wrong?

Yeah, endless mode is only really challenging for the first 20 or so days. The first two storms are brutal with how quickly they hit, but if you can get through them then there's pretty much nothing that can dislodge you and it's smooth sailing from then on. Basically if you can make it to day 30 then you'll survive indefinitely.

The one additional thing I'd note is that serenity mode is true to its name; regardless of your difficulty setting it is very forgiving and easy to play through. If you want an actual challenge, go with endurance.
Is the population supposed to still be capped at around 700 people?

I have bee playing in Endless Mode: Serenity on the map, "Flats," and have stopped finding any more people to add to my settlement at around 660. Given the size of the crater, I could easily double the population I currently have, but my scouts no longer ever find any more people out in "frostland" ( I am using three scouts and keep collecting every node before the next storm wave).

Though update is cool - seems that we will see a lot of changes. Due to the fact that now this endless mode seems half-baked. Lacks thrill.
