Just to let you know The Babylon Project 3.7.6 update has been released. This is a Total Conversion MOD for Freespace 2 Open. Be sure your PC can handle gaming.

Installing The Babylon Project is easy

Just download Knossos from this link (it is safe). https://fsnebula.org/knossos/

Run the setup program and then launch Knossos

First thing you need to do is to go into the Option screen (upper right gear)

Then select Stable build in the drop down menu. Make sure to hit the Save button

Return to the Explore tab and choose Install on the Babylon 5 icon. Then go get a coffee as it will take awhile.

You do have one option when installing. Check off the Cockpit option if you want to use them (three ships have them available)

After it is finished hit Play. Add a pilot then go into Options and configure your controls, ect

If you get a dialog box about OpenAL Soft then install this. Be sure to reboot after. https://openal-soft.org/

Select a campaign or single mission. I suggest Raider Wars as a starting campaign

If you choose to install Cockpit option then later on decide to not use them just deselect it in the Modify option under Options.

Without installing Freespace 2 you should also be able to install a few other stand alone MODs that are not dependent on Freespace 2 assets

Be sure to check out the forums at Hard Light Productions Babylon Project section. https://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?board=105.0

Hi,

I played TBP before, and it was awesome! Would like to play it again, especially fortune hunters. However when I try to start the campaign it crashes to desktop. In the forums i learned that it might be because of a problem with the aurora model. Is there any way this can be fixed? I dont have the know-how to do it myself...
