Hi folks, I just wanted to know if there was any way I could import the campaign from Freespace 1 into Freespace 2 (both bought from this site) as I've heard the game is extremely modable, and Freespace 1's engine is abit...hmm.

There are also enhancements to the basic package, but those aren't essential as they upgrade mainly graphical elements.

Except that the FS2_Open engine is much better than FS1's, and the FSPort team very committed to being as true to the original FS1 as possible, there are almost no glitches at all... Do some research before bashing stuff, kthxbai.

I played Freespace 1 for the first time using FSPort, and I thought it was brilliant. The engine is beautiful, and it even copies the movies across from your FS1 install so that you get the full single player experience*.
I don't recall encountering any bugs, either, which is probably an improvement on the original Freespace 1 engine!
(*) I did have to move the copied movies from one folder to another before they worked, but it wasn't too hard.

Research? I played the mod, and found it unsatisfying. I was just giving a recommendation based on my own experiences. Maybe they don't match your own experiences w/ FSPort, but you don't need to insult me for it.

I didn't notice any glitches in FSPort either.
