This happens unfortunately. So, probably you have parted ways on a bad terms...
I tried first chapter with a new soundtrack and can say that it suits quite well. The other story is a title theme which defines initial emotional mood for the player. The new one really makes you feel a dissonance. It's like 'Oh-la-la! I'm going to the grandmas dacha!' Nothing more, nothing less. Childish joy of a relatively regular action. While the old melody is more about slight mistery, gentle pain of nostalgia when grown-up visits long not seen location of his/her childhood.
It's really a pity that keeping the old titile theme is impossible.

Any changelog for the latest update Foxtail just received?

Ok if strictly speaking the old saves can't be loaded... then why don't you check if the player finished the second chapter and then just put them at the start of the third chapter while overwriting the save???

Perhaps it was pulled to implement a hotfix.
