Etcher: Okay, is it any good? Looks very interesting. What state of early access is it at? I’m not a big EA player. But I don’t mind buying at this price if the game is ready for playing and I’m not just a guinea pig. Should I wait?
As you know, it is "in development" so your experience may be vastly different from others. For example, I cna't even load the game, I get a crash at 50% loading bar as do some others. Other players have played and enjoyed it, others have had crashes on saves. It is all part of the "in development experience". Keep your eye on the forums but most importantly, make up your own mind based on what you read and see, all balanced of course. Reading 10 negative posts can tip the balance the wrong way at times.
The best I can suggest and I would say you have done this already is to watch people on YT playing, not just a review but more a full session so you can see the mechanics and any foibles that you might not be happy with. This is what I did because as you know there are many games of this type so we are all going "what is different about this one".
I enjoyed Banished but it did not live long on my hard drive so for me personally, what I saw on YT I was happy with to go in for the long haul.
The main thing for me was I liked the gridless construction. Sure, other games have that. Another thing I have not seen before is you see as villagers walk on certain parts it creates "paths". Until I can get mine running, all any of us can do is read what the dev says, check YT and if it is the kind of thing that migh enjoy, jump in.
There was another user here that was asking what is different about this one.
Apologies if all I could really present here is axiomatic..
