Hello!

Did anyone else encounter an issue where the game grinds to a near halt after 1-2 hours of gameplay? It goes from stable 40+ frames, with a fairly small town of 40 inhabitants, to 1-5 FPS. The only way to get it back up and running again is to force quit and restart.

Specs:

Core 9 Ultra 185H
32 GB RAM
Intel ARC iGPU (Should be roughly a 1050-1060 equivalent if you believe the reviews).

There were some reports regarding frame-rate issues on Steam, but I'm honestly not sure if they're similar to your issues.

Some mentioned that their game was crashing when they reached 50+ population, but I didn't notice if they had frame-drops before the crashing.
My hardware is:
AMD Ryzen 5 7600 6-Core Processor, 3.80 GHz
32 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 TI

I get ~25-30 FPS with a town of 250 people. The Graphics template is set to "High".

Is it a known performance bug? Cause I believe my hardware should handle this game with no problem.
I've read somewhere that one of the post-1.0 planned improvements is to work on compatibility with wider range of graphics processors. Apparently current game version does not like modern GPUs (say last 2 years) while older works relatively fine.

PS I've also created a ticket with the GOG team regarding this. I'll let you know how it went.

Not much of details, but they said:


we plan to continue refining the game and adressing the most reported issues
(...)
- Continue investigating a VRAM GPU issue that make the game crash for some players
- Enhancing overall performance
- Expanding compatibility with a wider range of GPUs
