Well, that's a little concerning... I never saw any EA roadmaps. As I mentioned, I bought the game after they announced the 1.0 release date.

Currently, version 1.10.2.12, which addresses some crashes and performance issues, along with previous patches, as well as some language pack additions.

That Scrooge McDuck comment gave me a laugh, wasn't expecting that :-D.

I'll never understand game devs who have a working version, then change it dramatically before release. If you HAVE to make changes, do them post-release... GRADUALLY. At least then, any mistakes/issues are easier to diagnose and correct. Changing so much at-once, essentially leaves you in the middle of a minefield. *shrugs*

Edit: Typo.

They had a good page on Discord, which was very informative and helpful. Having played the EA version now for ~ 5 years, we know it like the back of our hand. The mods are fantastic, allowing you to tailor the game to your preferences. The "official" release is an inferior product in many ways. We deleted it, and reloaded the 12/23 EA version via our Galaxy beta channel, and are very happy with it! As for Scrooge, my kupuna was a big fan and had a collection of most of them(published quarterly), from the beginning ~ 75 years ago, until Dell had the gall to raise the price from 10 cents an issue to 15 cents, ~ 65 years ago, when all the kids boycotted them. About a year later, Dell partially caved and rolled the price back to 12 cents. Too late, and they lost the publshing rights to Gold Key. Legend has it that Uncle Walt personally made that decision. He was a very hands-on person. Too bad he passed away in 1965 at only 65, from lung cancer.
I had to look-up kupuna, never seen that word before... Referring to a previous reply, I need to get-out more ;-).

I wonder what Walt would think of his company now?

Gone so woke that LucasFilm/LucasArts are losing money by the bucketload.

Speaking for myself, I despise what Disney has done to the Star Wars franchise. The original Star Wars was the first movie I EVER saw at the cinema in 1977, when I was just a nipper, so seeing what it's become now, awful to see such a decline and apparently that will continue... RIP Star Wars :-(.

On a positive note... Been watching some gameplay videos of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II... Soooo looking-forward to getting that game on GOG, it looks fantastic :-D. I'l be switching-off the music though, ruins the immersion for me, not very immersive to have music playing 24-hours a day ;-).

Unlike many Youtubers though, I'm planning on making a reputable name for myself in the Towns/Cities, holding honour in high-regard and ONLY fighting to defend myself, allowing them to leave when they yield. May come back to bite me, but that's how I prefer to play.

Get Woke, Go Broke! LOL
Haha, my thoughts exactly ;-).

They will never learn whilst they're allowing the views of a minority to influence their company direction.

Ubisoft and EA are 2 more examples. I refunded PGA Tour 2023, because it forced me to use pronouns. All I think when I see that is... F***/That ;-P.

We refuse to deal with them either, or Steam. Here's a golf sim that has lots of hi-res courses, as well as current and classic players ~ https://shop.dksports.com/golfgamepackages.aspx
My kupuna liked Arnie and Gary, who became best friends at The Open ca 1961, Troon?
Thanks for the suggestion & link, will have to check that out :-).

Will see if I can find some gameplay videos, because of the 2 things which cause me issues, UI and anything which relies on colour. I have NO colour vision, so when colours are used in games, like Shadow of Mordor/War (removed from my Wishlist because of use of colours), I have to see how essential colour vision is, annoying, but that's life sometimes.

I still remember playing the "Leaderboard" games many years ago, absolutely loved them, even though ball physics was non-existent. Classics!

Arnie and Gary had a TV show in the 60s called Challenge Golf where they teamed up to play another pair of golfers. It might have been match play, which is a neat format that the Claret Cup used to be decided by. The UK and Scottish courses are wonderful tests of accuracy when gale-force winds are howling. Fore!
I recall playing at St. Andrews for the first time, in one of the early PGA games. It seemed impossible at the time and the wind was so annoying, but after some practice, I eventually got used to it.

Never truly liked playing the course though, as with some of the USA Links courses, tough as nails at times. I preferred some of the less-annoying courses.

Had a look at that game you recommended, looks good, but... Quite a high price. Couldn't find any videos showing settings, so I'm currently 50/50 as to whether I should use the contact page to request the information.

My main gaming priority atm is Kingdom Come: Deliverance II on here, so almost everything else is on-hold, unless they finally release Sengoku Dynasty or Croc Remastered on here, both Wishlisted ;-).

High winds call for a 1 or 2 iron "knockdown" shot. The "Merry Mex"(Lee Trevino) was a master at them, and did well at bagging Claret Jugs as a result. He got struck by lightning while playing golf, twice! dkssports has sales regularly. Sub to their newsletter, and wait for a golf one to get some good deals on courses, eras, and players.
Struck by lightning, TWICE... Ouch!

I never played when the weather was that bad, made a mess of my gear for one thing and although it wasn't expensive gear I had, I didn't want to ruin it. I did score a Birdie ONCE, had only been playing a few months, but struggled to score another after that.

If I tried to play IRL again now, I'd need a caddy to find my ball :'-D.

Thanks for the tip about that golf game, I should've considered that. I may sign-up when my Wishlist has gone down a little, especially with those 3 games mentioned above ;-).
Game update, for those who haven't tested the latest patch (1.10.2.14):

Performance has improved slightly, but I still have to reduce or disable some graphics options, or my fans still run at full speed.

UI Scaling is still a problem. If I want to even do some testing, I MUST start the game in 1080p, or I can't change maps, then reduce the resolution to 720p once the game starts, just to be able to 'partially' see what I'm doing. The text is still way too small to be able to play the game comfortably.

Waiting for things to improve significantly...
I cannot even comment on other issues since the UI is hindering me at even starting a game, my eye sight is bad enough without sticking my face to the screen^^

Too bad the release was botched this way, as far as I remember the game ran (more or less) smoothly and the ui scaler worked last time I played before release.

Well more waiting and playing other games^^

Yeah, it was the EA Preview release of 12/23, which we have reverted to thru the use of the beta channel, which obviously is only an option if you are a Galaxy user, which we are, for better or worse. In this case it's allowed us to go back to playing the EA version, which we've been doing now for five years. We're very familiar with it, and really like the mods, which allow us to tailor the game to our preferences. As for the full release version, we'll consider using it when it finally achieves the level of viability that the EA version had attained as of 12/23. In the meantime, as we say in our azure Pacific oceania island world, Bonne chance, mes chers amis!

I only managed to start a game because of a strong magnifying glass, so I can relate, unfortunately.

I was testing the game, but like yourself, I won't be 'playing' anytime soon, until they fix the UI Scaling, IF they fix it...

Faced this problem a few times already, 'Star Trucker' is a prime example and given that my review of that game is still listed as 'Most Helpful', it seems we're not the only ones struggling when accessibility features are missing, or don't work correctly.
