Immediately spotted 3 problems...

1. UI Scaling does NOTHING. I'm now forced to play in 720p and I'm still struggling.
2. I only have 1 map/territory type available and that appears to be random.
3. The game sound is still active for a few seconds after shutdown, as is the resolution.

Not a great start to a full release in my opinion...

Yeah the UI is killing me too, hope this will be fixed qioclöy
I've had to stop 'trying' to play it, until the UI Scaling is fixed. Poor sight and the game is giving me a headache just trying to read the text :-(.

Also, the game is attempting to cook my GPU, fans are pretty noisy, even before I enable Ultra settings, needs tweaking it seems.

I am playing at 2K (2560x1440) without UI issues. I reduced the Shadow quality to High to increase FPS. Game looks fantastic. Though I would like to zoom out a bit more!
You need to adjust the settings consistent with your system capbilities, CPU, Graphics card, RAM, SSD, etc.

My system specs exceed the recommended specs for the game. I could run the EA verson with no issues at all and I'm running much more hungry games with ease, so if the changes they made for the full release have altered the recommended specs, they need to state as much. I used to teach computer skills, so I know what my system is capable of ;-).

Looking at some of the issues reported on Steam, it seems the game has more than a few problems, random CTD is one of those, even on systems that are way above the recommended specs.

It seems to me that the optimisation needs some work, whether that's to do with specific graphics cards and/or setups, that's not for me to determine, but the full release definitely has problems which need addressing.

Agree and echo pretty much with all your points. Played the EA version for years with lots of mods which allowed me to tailor the experience to my preferences. The fact that achievements were disabled with mods was no problem. Had no performance issues either. The full release is a very different product, with obvious optimization issues. You have to tinker around with the rules to get the experience that suits your preferences and play style. Am still getting the feel with multiple restarts yielding different results. A matter of striking the right balance. Having to start with only 500 money is a challenge to not go bankrupt. We start with all trade routes maxed and optimized and sell planks and polished stone in as high a volume as possible. We have an aversion to taxing the serfs, preferring to make money trading. They get free water and berries, plus the basic housing. That's it.
I only bought the game shortly after they announced the 1.0 release date, paid full price, which I was happy to do, especially after playing it, loved it instantly :-).

My intention, with all City/Colony builders, is to create a uptopia for my citizens. I disable all combat where possible in these games, don't want them fighting for their lives regularly.

The game now though... With the UI issues alone, it's completely unplayable for me and the high temps start the very moment I get to the title screen, even if I set everything to low. It has a moment occasionally when it allows my fans to stop, then off it goes again. *shrugs*

Even Cyberpunk 2077 with High-Ultra (manually configured) settings doesn't push my system that hard.

I hope they release some fixes soon, because it feels like I've wasted my money right now :-/.
Sadly, the recent patch did not fix the UI issue

Well, we can only wait and keep reminding of this issue
That is weird, for me game works very smoothly in Full HD (1920x1080) on 5 years old i5 10400f & RTX 2070S.
Also the UI scaling slider works fine, changing size of all UI elements between 75% and 150%.

Maybe there is something wrong with the system you run it on?

I'm running a Ryzen 9 from the end of 2023, 32GB DDR5 Ram, with a Radeon RX 6600m Overclocked with 8GB GDDR6. I'm running over 270 games on my system, quite a few with UI Scaling and all of those work fine. as does the UI Scaling where it's available.

Given the amount of reports on Steam and the speed of TWO patches, there are clearly issues with the game, especially when many of those reports indicate that the EA version ran fine, as it did with my system.

Quite a few peeps on Steam have reported difficulties with the UI and/or font size, so hopefully it will be fixed soon *crosses fingers*

You mean UI scaling base on OS settings or UI slider in game? I have no clue about OS settings but I play the game with UI set in-game to 115% at this very moment.

What I noticed is that UI slider in game does not react when I'm in main menu. But when I'm in active game it works just fine. And after i set it once to 115% it stays that way every time I launch the game.

The UI Scaling in-game. I do have to use some accessibility options in Windows, but that usually only affects much older games, or recent games if they've not been programmed that well.

In the EA version, I could manage well in-game AND on the main menu, as BOTH reflected the scaling I chose. Now, the menu doesn't change at all and in-game it appears to have been reduced.

To give you a better idea of my particular difficulties...

I am legally blind, with only 10% of my sight left, on a good day. On a bad day, it is around 2-5% maximum, sometimes nothing at all is left. I avoid all of my games on bad days, of course, but I can't even play Foundation anymore on a good day. I'm not just complaining for the sake of it :-).
There was a small update yesterday. No idea what was "fixed."

It was to fix random crashes, which "caught us by surprise", according to Steam.

There were numerous crashes from what I read, many different system specs involved too.

On a plus note, my overheating problems have been solved by the looks of it with today's update, that was immediately evident when I booted the game up ;-).
