Greetings :),

are there any differences between updates in the Steam- and Gog-Version? Are the updates faster released in Steam?

Thank you :)

This really depends on the devs and where they release it to first or if at the same time etc. I use manual downloads. I hate automatic updates because sometimes I like to keep older versions and not be forced to update so I always get manual ones which can take longer but I am very happy to wait.
I was concerned too, because of to many cases where the GOG-versions were treated second to any other version like Steam.

The game has recieved 4 updates since the launch on GOG.
Nearly all of them where at the same time as on Steam (only one at sunday evening was processed on mondaly morning), except that there is no official changelog in the GOG-forum.

The developers make a really good job to maintain the GOG-version of Foundation like any other version.

I do not regret to buying it on GOG (also the game is really good).
Ah, nice to hear :). Thank you :).
According to this post:

www.gog.com/forum/foundation/about_achievements_support

"Be reassured that we will always maintain the same content on both GOG and Steam version!"

A bit off-topic:
Did you know you can tell GOG Galaxy to keep a game at a specific version? I use it with Stardew Valley a lot since I play the game with mods.

I did know that but I have no wish to ever use GoG galaxy. I want to have the original installers, I archive them so I can manage them all compeltely myself with no automation whatsoever.

Thank you for posting this though as there are bound to be people who did not know that may well indeed wish to partake in this venture.

We release Updates on Steam & GOG Galaxy at the same time (or within minutes).

Please note, manual download updates (non-Galaxy) may take longer due to GOG internal processes.
