just bought the game on sale, been following it for quite a while already.
Well, first thing I noticed when I started a new game, was that achievements were disabled with the suggestion to turn off mods in order to get achievements. I just bought the game, I don't even have any mods. This happens with any new game I start, so I'm quite clueless.

Concerning custom maps, no, none that I know of. Unless the latest version of the game ships with some examplary custom maps pre-installed. But I don't see anything in the Mods section of the main menu either. The map I play on is the basic Hills map.

EDIT: Apparently now (one day later) I just got my first achievement, "Expansion" (even though I purchased some territory a couple of times before on the Hills map), on the Coastal map despite the initial warning. At least that's what I see on GOG Galaxy. Strange...

I have the same problem : Standard map and no mods... After one saving, i had this message too ! :(

No, not using GOG Galaxy, just the standalone build. Internet connection is on.
