claudius1713: Pool of radiance. I fought humanoid monsters like goblins orcs (in the slums of phlan) etc so I don't know about level drain. Would it notify me in the character 'view' page as a status?
No.
But there are Wights in one of the early Slum areas, which could have drained your character. Also Spectre in the Library, IIRC
I don't think the Temples offer Restoration, so assuming it's not some weird bug, you'll need some Scrolls of Restoration. You can find some in the Library, I think, but you'll need a Knock spell to enter, and be able to defeat some tough monsters. You can also get Scrolls of Restoration from the Council Clerk if you accept the Graveyard mission, but you probably need to do more missions/clear more slum blocks first.
