So the game defaults to Roland MT-32 for music and Soundblaster for effects. I use the program to change that to music and effects with Soundblaster, but then it can't save the settings.
This is the only game (so far) where I've had this happen. Surely there's a way to set it up as desired.

I don't own UA and I'm not sure to be able to help you but, please, would you be more precise about what you did in order to change the settings? What program did you use?

I was able to change the settings by setting the install path to C:\
That way, it defaults to the gog install on my C: drive. Tricky, but logical considering the game's age!
So, whatever drive you have, just choose the root of that and it should save the settings.
