I recently purchased the Forgotten Realms package 1 and 2 on GOG and decided to try out the Gold Box Companion on Pool of Radiance. I am sorry to say that I am totally computer illiterate so I found a DosBox tutorial on youtube to learn how to run it. I am pretty sure that I did everything correctly, but when I try to run Gold Box Companion, DosBox gives me a message saying, "This program must be run under Win32." I don't even know what that means. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you very much for your time.

You don't need DosBox to run Gold Box Companion? That is good to know. Why does the Gold Box Companion website list dosbox as one of the requirements?

DOSBox is needed to run the games. If you use the GOG versions, you don't need to bother installing or configuring DOSBox as GOG has already packaged it with the games.

Gold Box Companion searches the DOSBox memory for character and map data.

I have set up GBC for POR gog game. But I don't get any of the GBC perks when I load my savegame. Please help me to set up properly.

Incidentallyt i'm running Krynn Series, but i also play the Forgotten Realms series, and this is actually a GBC question. i don't think there is a specialized forum for GBC, so hopefully someone here knows how to fix this :-

i just started DKK and so at the start, several items which were not removed after i completed Champions, got removed when i entered Gargath, however, on the HUD i still see the Effects in GREEN :-

Displaced (from equipping Cloak of Displacement)
Poison Resistant (from equipping periapt proof vs. poison)
Dragonlance (from equipping footman's dragonlance)

Now these items are no longer in my inventory, but those HUD effects won't go away. So i went into Editor, i replaced all those effects with the first string $00 000 -, indicating i have lost those effects. However when i returned to the game, i find my HUD now permanently having these following string of effects in GREY :-

$00
$73 (This appears to be from equipping +1/+4 longsword vs. Reptiles, but i don't know why $73 is showing)

It appears that he effects are truly gone, as i can see from inside the editor screen- i have no effects on,

BUT THE HUD is not refreshing, please help.

OK i managed a workaround. Although uner the GBC in-built Editor, my effects box was empty, obviously there are some remnants attached to that character, but i just cant see it under GBC Editor. So i used SGE and i successfully deleted the 3 x $00 (nothing; no effect) strings from my charcter. Under GBC HUD now no more funy symbos are appearing.

There is only one problem : It appears DKK does not recognize effects extended by the item 'Longsword +4 vs Reptiles" obtained from Part 1 Champions.
And that is giving the $73 message on HUD.
I have placed the SGE description of this power. Hopefully someone can add a proper description later, so we won't have to see "$73" everytime we equip this sword.
