So, I do understand there is little to no music. But, is the game not set for using a mouse? I can also deal with that. But, in the character creation, it has DWARF highlighted and I cannot move past it. I can create all the dwarves I want, but there seems to an isssue. I've tried E for elf, H for human. Nothing happens (Well, E takes me out of character creation).

Thanks
Tony

I'm not generally great at helping people with technical issues, but I can tell you in gold box, particularly Pool of Radiance, character creation, you have to use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select options. Hotkeys work (and often have to be used) in the main adventure screen and in combat but not in character creation.

No, Pool has no mouse support; keyboard only. The later gold box games have some mouse support, but it was never very well integrated. I think the general view is that it's best to stick with the keyboard mostly in all these games. (It works just fine.)

You need to use "1" for down and "7" for up. (If your keyboard has a numpad, this is slightly more intuitive than it seems).

Thanks! Weird thing, arrows didn't do it in Character creation (at least not in selecting race) but 1 and 7 on Numpad did

Arrow keys didn't work but this did

Also, the modify character needed me to use "4" to reduce an attribute and "6" to increase

Seems the key commands are a bit inconsistently utilized

Sorry. It's been a long time since I played Pool of Radiance. I didn't remember the exact key usage.
