I started the pool of radiance , created a set of characters and saved the game.
But after I restarted the game one day later all characters were gone.

So I created one character and then started to play. After a few minutes I quit the game and restarted it again.
But also this character disappeared.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Most likely problems with read/write permission?

Where did you install? Where are the save-games? Which OS?
The OS I'm using is Windows 10 and the game is installed in C:\Spiele\Pool of Radiance
You need to go to a Training Hall and Remove characters. Then they will be available if you want to restart.
Just saving the game is not enough.

restart, as in restarting the game, not restarting POR from the beginning ;)

samdaisi: snip
okay....that excludes what I assumed.

Can you try starting the game as: run as administrator ?
(even if you are using an administrator as user, just give it a shot)

This might be stupid but have you checked so it's not write protected?
thank you for all the commecnts
It worked now: I was confused about the multiple save slots. After pressing the character of the right saving slot I had my characters back :-)
