Hi,
I can't find the information anywhere on the web. Which gold box game has had a mouse support first ? I struggled too much with the keymapper of DosBox (can't get the down left and right diagonals to work, it is so annoying !!).

Thank you for the info !
Number keypad should work fine. If you're using a notebook computer without the keypad, some systems do have a keypad within the regular keyboard as well. There's usually a function + some key needed to enable it.
If the post above doesn't already solve your issues: Out of curiosity, I asked the veterans on the Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures forum, who are great fans of the Goldbox games, and I was told that only Pool of Radiance (1988) and Curse of the Azure Bonds (1989) lack mouse support on PC. It was introduced in the two titles released in 1990, Champions of Krynn and Secret of the Silver Blades, and is a feature in all following games, too.

Thank you for your answers.
I'll try to bind the keys again in PoR and Curse (Ctrl F1 in dosbox). The thing is, I obviously do not want to play with the original key binding (Fn + 1, or 7 all the other ways, etc, that's silly) and I managed to get some keys to work as I want, but like I said, i can't find the original keys of the down left and right diagonals, I think these are the only keys I can't find and rebind.
I recall being able to do all the other directions in battle and I think I can use the arrow to properly move in the 3d view, I'm not sure about the up and down in the right menu. I think I can only go up.

Anyway, if I can't rebind the directions, I'll just skip PoR and Curse.

Oh, I just remembered, there is a third option, if you're not a purist - as it happens, a fan modder (with great renown in his niche) adapted these two games for Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures (FRUA), the most advanced version of the Goldbox engine. So you could actually play them comfortably with your mouse in FRUA.

First, you'd have to set up your FRUA installation to work with "hacked" modules though, as explained here. But IMO, it would totally be worth it. The only problem I see there is that it might be hard to go back to the older Goldbox engine games afterwards, if you're already accustomed to the advanced engine, ease-of-use and graphics.

It's not on GOG, but the Amiga version of Pool of Radiance has mouse support. Works well in WinUAE.
