I am missing a key to open the door leading to level 7. i went everywhere. Is there a way to add a key using an editor or i have to start a new party and not open all the doors on level 5 ? (so i can keep 3 at least for level 6)
Having played that game countless of times, I know you can't be stuck because you used all your keys. Either you didn't go everywhere (some areas are quite well hidden), or opening that door is entirely optional. It's probably best to check some walkthrough rather than using an editor...

i opened 2 useless doors on level 5 with keys. maybe thats why? there are 3 doors in a row leading in the same room.
Three doors that lead to the Dwarves? Yes, you can open them all and still be able to complete the game, I'm certain of it. Could be an extra key lying somewhere, or possibly an alternative way to reach level 7. The game is not as linear as it seems... Sorry I can't help much, it has been some 20 years since I last played the game! But I do remember those doors were a non-issue.

No, that will not break the game. You must have overlooked something. There are hidden buttons on walls on that level too.

Did you take a look at the cluebook, that comes with the game? That should help. For instance it mentions that you should pick up a dwarven key, before putting someting on a shelf, because that would make the key vanish. Did you do that? The cluebook also has useful maps.

EOB1 actually is quite a non-linear game. You get access to portals, that let you skip large parts of the game,
yes i took the key before putting a dart in. i am following the cluebook. thing is, if i forgot a key somewhere, i would be easier to restart the game, than go everywhere again looking ofr the key i could have missed.

With the maps provided by the cluebook, I would think that it is quicker to walk down the levels again, than to start anew, but it is your choice.

Starting RPGs over and over again definitely is a thing.
So i made a new party, and i can definitely say there aren't enough keys to open the doors. So when you find 3 keys on lvl 6 keep them to open the door down to level 7, because if you go back up to open doors on level 5, you'll be stuck...

This link may help, and don't forget to lock-pick doors. I was stuck too, and in a panic I started to lock-pick everything I encounter.

You need 3 keys, right?
There are 2 keys in two pits, separated by a stair, wich you can only get if you throw yourself in those pits, taking damage.
The other one is hidden in the shelves that disappear when you put daggers or darts on them.
