I don't see multiplayer mentioned on the game card, only single-player. I wouldn't expect servers to be online, but can anyone confirm that LAN is functional?

Well, I tried to play online with this program - FlatOutNet, unfortunately, I wasn't successful. But that's probably because I don't know how to properly set up my router. ;)

I've played several LAN games of the GOG FlatOut 2. It's works great, even with a mix of Linux and Windows. Not sure about the first one.

As @TheCycoONE noticed, LAN works really nice with both Flatout 1 and 2, on Linux and Windows :)

Yeah, I can confirm that it works, have only tried it with Flatout 2 so far though.

Can you please tell me how you got the lan working with flatout 1 on windows PC? I have Win 7 and have been trying a lot to get the Lan working but after installing the Fov2 gog patch and the flatoutnet exe, The game launches and gets to the track selection screen but after that it crashes with an error. I have been searching ever since on the internet. I would be very happy if you could share how you got it working. Thanks

Anyone confirm if Flatout 1 still works when hosting a network game (since GOG patch).
I get a runtime error only when trying to host a network game (Windows 10).

Single Player game works fine.

I, too, get a runtime error when I try to host, on Win7 64-bit. Also, your weapons have no effect on me.

Hi, I have the same problem described by "nani_86" and "Krankor".
Fov2 patch, flatoutnet.exe but there's always this runtime error when trying to host a game.
Does it fix now ? A solution ?

It used to be that Linux was the troublemaker whereas in Windows games always worked just fine. Wanted to play with a buddy (Lenovo ThinkPad T230, Win 7 64) tonight but he can't see any game I'm hosting on my Linux box and when he tries to host one himself it just says "Runtime Error". I know this topic is solved but none of the posts contains anything that would help (yes, he has the latest Windows download). So what's the solution? GoG, anyone?

Do you have any specifics on the "Runtime Error"?

At one point I got a "Runtime Error (at 69:599)".
I think I was using the opensource Mesa graphics driver at the time.
I installed the proprietary ATI Catalyst graphics driver and that seemed to fix the issue.

I might test FlatOut at some point with a new linux install and the latest Mesa driver to see if the Runtime Error still happens.

I just spent hours trying to set this up to play with friends and after all that it crashes when you attempt to play multiplayer, this is getting very old with the slow and poor service GOG.

I have download it on another site (probably an older version with russian language but I'd change it in a "ini" file) and the LAN works well so... good luck !

I'd only be interested in purchasing if local LAN play works (It's a blast with friends) - Wont pull the trigger until I hear from GOG that it does. This lack of transparency on local LAN functionality is epidemic on GOG. This post and many like it are far from solved.
