PC: AMD 7940HS with integrated R780M, Windows 10, latest drivers
Any clues?
thanks

EDIT: just noticed this note on the GoG game page, fk it:

Dear Flashback fans,
We apologise for making you wait for Flashback 2 on GOG, which is now available. However, the game still experiences several video issues. Please, trust that our teams are working hard to bring patches in the best timing possible so fans of the first hour and sci-fi aficionados alike can enjoy the ride without perturbation.
Thank you very much for your passion and your dedication,

Same here, AMD Ryzen 7 5800H w/ RTX 3060 mobile and Windows 11.

I wrote to the support, waiting for the answer (and the solution). If it won't be resolved within few days, I'll refund it. :(

And the same here on Win 10, RTX 4080. Just black screen after microids logo.
Same for me black screen after logo Microid

Windows 11 AMD R7 5800X3D / RTX3090
The download file on gog servers is only 1.9 GB and not the correct size of 13 GB. They have incorrect or incomplete files to download
me too, also wrote directly to Microids, the developers
no one cared to reply, so far at least...

13 GBs? wow, that's some difference compared to the GoG download size :D

I got a black screen error and was hoping it isnt a large download as internet aint that fast so hoping its not going to turn into a large game to download.

Downloaded 12gb version of the game and still just a black screen then crashes arg!!!
Tried running the game with screen resolution lowered down check readme file in the game directory to see how to do it,
Now i get a picture but its just a sliver down the middle of the screen and when it goes into the game it crashes.
Help would be appreciated.

In the meantime I've checked the game specs, and they show some 16GB disk space...
That might really indicate an installer size over 10GBs, in my experience, thus probably @riorizzor is right
I'm now raising a support ticket for this, everyone with this problem should do that IMO

If it's actually the GoG installer borked no one might get the game to work I'm afraid
So far my support ticket is still unanswered, for the record... too bad

There seems to be like only one person or so that sounds like they can play it. But, its the internet so who knows, that could even be a fake review. It doesn't say verified owner either. I'd take that one with a grain of salt.

At the same time, compression from 12.xGB to 1.xGB would not be realistic. Clarification: In the context of game compression including videos that can't be further compressed, etc.

So, either no one can play it or there's wrong info present.

I don't have interest in this gameplay enough to buy it and find out myself but based on all of you it has to be that no one can play it. Not seeing good confirmation that says otherwise. You'd think if someone could that you'd hear from multiple people, "Yes I can definitely play it." and a bunch of reviews too that aren't black screens instead of only one that sounds contrary to it.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.

Agreed that seems to be the case for the GoG installer (offline installer, in my case)
The Steam version seems to work for many if not most people, even though riddled with bugs and plenty of negative reviews, so in general you'll find around people able to play it diluting the black screen only reports.
First and last time I preorder a game, these days developers tend to let the users do alpha/beta testing - and I have enough of that at work already :)

I just got an email back for the support ticket I logged....

It was the generic, update Windows, update your graphics cards drivers, verify game files.... etc.

No help at all. I am certain that they don't read their own forums.

** Update ** GOG have said they are aware of the widespread issue, and suggested I contact Microids directly.

Have just received a game update, downloading the missing 13.70gb now.
