Recently downloaded and installed the subject version of Firmament on my Win 11 computer. Installation went perfectly, but app will not open. Error message is:

Plugin 'OodleData' failed to load because module 'OodleDataCompressionFormat' could not be found. Please ensure the plugin is properly installed, otherwise consider disabling the plugin for the project.

I navigated through all the Firmament folders and could not find any "Oodle" files of any kind anywhere. Anyone else have this problem? I don't use GOG Galaxy... should I?

The previous version 1.2.0 Patch 6 played perfectly.

Thanks for reading!

This was reported to support@cyan.com over the weekend, and subsequently the same reporting player found downloading and installing Firmament version 2.0.5 resolved their issue.
I haven't seen any Oodle problem when installed from Galaxy client but I wouldn't ever expect any difference that way.

But, there's definitely two issues trying to get to the main menu on the new updates still on 2.0.5.

Time out issue on start. So I cleared shader cache stuff to see what would happen. After going to main menu a few times, exiting and starting, it may now complain with out of video memory and that one was not seen prior to cleaning the shaders. Neither were seen before the new updates. Start again few minutes later and it went to main menu.

Randomly, it will reach the main menu. Seems like some sort of race issue. Something is causing unexpected results. This is not a new computer at all and is not Intel based so its not the Intel problems, if someone is wondering. The Oodle issue of the user above could in theory be, but I'm not looking to see.

If it stayed that way for someone: very likely can delete or edit the config files and / or clear shaders again and get it working.

But, I'm not dealing with it further right now including dealing with support, as I have other things to deal with.

By the way, because there's random problems, that does not at all help with things. People may think something was fixed when it was not. Maybe the thread issue here was fixed. That would at least be one thing.

Update: Start game to menu and exit and repeat. 5th time has out of video memory, 6th time CTD without any message (screen blinks when trying to start and that's it). 7th time, game goes to menu again and all is fine. That's what I'm currently seeing. (Later on, another time: first try is CTD. Looks to be random on that one. Yet to see timeout again after cleaning out shaders. 5th time, out of video memory. So, that one might not be actually random with 5th time two in a row.) (Later on yet another time: This time played the game for some time, and next start after, the timeout issue is back.) (Final later on: Finished the game. Fatal error on exit.)
