...that last hour was such a punch in the heart.

and then those end credits, man.

This game manhandled my feelings harder than the end of SOMA. I'm keen to replay it sometime but I almost don't want to feel that way again. Campo Santo, you manipulative flapjacks.

I enjoyed it as well. I am now even more interested in SOMA if you say it is a good story.

Would you recommend SOMA? I'd like to play more games like this, where the story is the game and you don't have to kill your way to the end.

Yeah, I would! The storytelling is done in an extremely similar style to Firewatch; you'd be forgiven for thinking both games feature the same two characters. SOMA delves into some much darker existential territory though, and the gameplay is a mix of exploration and avoidance horror sequences.

It's not a perfect game, but it made me feel emotions that no other piece of "entertainment" has ever provoked in me, because it forces you to question the very definition of what humanity is. Instant cult classic imo.

Just looked up SOMA based on this recommendation, looks creepy. I love Firewatch.

Played this a while ago and loved every bit of it. With the new update and the included concept arts and the nice audio commentarys (which sadly are niot subtitled) I have a reason to revisit the game. Unfortunately even with the update the performance of the game imo is not what it should be.
