I seem to recall this game had the possibility for expansion packs which were never realised, and modding tools that were rumoured to be released. From what I've read they never made it past a select few developers. Assuming GoG have done some work on this release, which I'm happy to say is working fine for me as long as the game isn't interrupted at all, what are the chances of them being able to locate and add the campaign editor and unit modder?

I would LOVE some modders to re-create the expansions that never were... that would be incredible.

Aha, your google fu is stronger than mine. Thank you. Those are pretty archaic tools but at least the text files makes sense. Looking at this I can certainly see why the previous modders abandoned the project. Still, something to play with, hopefully with it linked here others will poke around too.

Thankfully I did get the mods files but man, I'm confused as to which file goes where as they're either in txt or hpp files

The HPP files are not of consequence for your purposes.
Read the TXTs for instructions.

Two links aren't working, though, _flexpansion.zip and legions_of_volistad_mod.zip. I was able to download the other four, however, and have been playing around with modding the various values.

Thanks for posting this; I played the game when it first came out and this is the first time I've ever heard of anyone having done mods for it.
