Game loads at a tiny resolution which is unplayable. I cant find any options for changing anything on the start screen?

Will the game even be playable in higher res given how tiny the native res is?

The game can run in - if my memory serves - 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768.
Try changing the scaling options in your graphics driver settings. There should be one for scaling to display size while maintaining aspect ratio.
How do I change the native res of the game to 1024x768?

As per manual (p 6-7):
Fourth icon from the top in the main menu to get to options screen. The slider is on the bottom right - push it to the right, then click the button below to approve changes.

Eh?

Are you talking about the same game?

There is no such button and no reference to it in the manual.

Sorry, my bad. Mixed it up with Chaos Gate.

What I said about scaling options in your driver settings still applies, though.
hi, just bought this game aswell and i saw these topics about the game.

just created a topic about the high usage of cpu and gpu.

can we change resolutions? i wasnt aware of that cause like i said in my post, i have a pc that runs like mad on cpu and gpu when i start the game, alt tabbing is disabled, as far as i can remember all classics were alt tab enabled when they were released in the 70-90s.

also have another recent game that doesnt alt tab and uses cpu and gpu like a madman, the newer games seem to be using less cpu/gpu then the old ones.

Anyways i hope there is a solution for all this cause i cant risk my pc 'burning up'.

my problem is solved, seems the settings need to be adjusted, the fan speeds can be set to run faster, they are 999 or so .

Now to find an alt tab fix, i read some in the gogwiki about adjusting some files or so.

Your graphics card driver should have the option to change scaling on higher-end displays. Check for "disable resolution/DPI scaling" in appropriate NVIDIA/ATI panel OR the one coresponding to the integrated graphic card in a notebook possesing two cards (I, for example, have Intel HD AND Nvidia GTX. Generally choose the inferiior card, which often manages display tasks and not computing and it should be the one controlling DPI scaling)
there are several annoying graphic issues, there are broken texts in the screen of mission selection mode. The screen has graphic glithes in scrolling.
